  1. I have a closet full as well. But my point is, I don't think we'll ever see it any time soon. I would think in light of Round2 / AMT re releasing their '29 roadster against Revells new issue, maybe a nostalgia shot with the Monogram first issue would be in order, a money maker for sure.
  2. When was the last time you saw one on your local hobby shop shelf ?
  3. With the new release Revell Model A coupe kit that just came out, is there no longer any love for the old Monogram 1/24th scale kit, in it's many incarnations?
  4. I just ran through the instructions on the "Instruction" site must of missed that one. However I did find a few in the parts box when looking for the bottom FI manifold. Insite, again tiny Stromberg carbs. Plenty of um though.
  5. The only good looking manifold ( bottom half fulie) that I could find was the Revell '57 Nomad. All the variations of this kit has the part.
  6. None on the front either, Shelby style
  7. No thanks
  8. Check out this thread, http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/104641-cars-of-american-graffiti/ I mentioned another alturnitive using the bottom half of an early Corvette fuel injection unit.
  9. I agree, Looking at a hot rod is one thing though, looking at a car you can go to the show room and look at, as well as drive it , is something else entirely.
  10. Tempus Fugit
  11. I was there too and remember looking down our nose at the "Store bought" hot rods, nee, muscle cars. " They didn't do anything themselves, just bought it off the show room floor"
  12. This has bugged me for quite awhile, new cars at a cruise night. You go to a cruise night at the local shopping center parking lot to see cool old cars, hot rods, low riders, et.al. NOT late models you can go to a dealer and see ( and guess what? even drive if you like. ) We have one of the greatest weekly cruise ins here in the valley, "The Pavillions" in Scottsdale, been going strong for many years, on Good Guys weekends more than 500 cars. But here's the rub, among the many great cars,( always more than 100) hot rods, customs, muscle cars are the "Wanna bees" late models, Brand new Mustangs, Camaros, Corvettes and awhile back PT Cruisers, taking up space where legit cool cars can't park. I'm sorry, that's NOT what I came to see.
  13. So why the '54 instead of the '56 ?
  14. Here's a three way kit review, http://blog.modeljunkyard.com/2011/04/08/54_55_and_56_chevy_revell_hotrod_series/
  15. Aw man, that was coming along so nice. You gotta do another, if it turns anywhere near as nice as the roadster.
  16. Many times certain advantages prevail. Often times more than one advantage is necessary. Speed and driver skill in this instant. Very impressive.
  17. Ever wonder why most of these kits had a 348 "W" motor as the second choice ?
  18. Is that $2.99 or $12.99 ?
  19. Maybe in "gasser type cars", but as I said previously, and from experience, people were running the Chevy 348 on the street, as evidenced in the early Revell Tri 5 kits as well.
  20. That's the beauty of Facebook, only a "Like" button. I remember an old ditty that goes something like this : " If'n you cain't say sumpin" nice, don't say nuttin' atall."
  21. But can one do that in traffic ?
  22. Break that sucker out and give it a try, just think what a hero you'll be on this thread.
