  4. Maybe it would be helpful to those of us not in the know on some of these less obvious kits to include an explanation.
  5. Ok, so what are we missing here ?
  6. On a road trip to Los Angles for an engineering company I worked for, in the early eighties, I was checking into a motel for the night. Having a young son I always made it a point to bring him back something from my trips away from home. I noticed they had a small gift shop and stopped in to have a look. Much to my surprise, they had a few older model kits no longer available in hobby shops. I picked up a diecast Corvette kit figuring it would be durable for my sons young rough play. For myself I bought the last two Monogram kits they had, long out of production. Felt like the trip was well worth it.
  7. Seems like they lose it with the "RED" cars.
  8. and for the adventuresome, remember, Google is your friend, https://www.google.com/search?q=Halibrand+racing+wheels&espv=2&biw=1600&bih=770&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi4t_34ybjRAhXoslQKHQoUD9gQ_AUIBygC

  16. From another board :I have the latest on that Revell Model A tooling issue. The information that was posted on Stevens site is FALSE! There is a concern that they’ve been working on with the company that does the tooling (NOT China itself!) but… …they’re simply continuing to work on solving the issue. Nothing has changed since the concern arose 3 months ago.
  17. Working for me , Merry Christmas
  18. There they go. Have you priced the new ones on Ebay lately ? The coupes are pushin $75
  19. Seems like that's where the new '30 coupe and roadster are heading, off into never never land. Get em while you can kids.
  20. and here's the catch. I was in Michael's last night with the wife looking for Christmas stuff and just by coincidence past the model shelf ( No longer an isle) and was blown away at the prices, all pushing $30 ! Now I'm thinking; where is this taking the hobby ? Who is the majority buyers at these stores ( i.e. Hobby Lobby) ? This is going to kill the growth of the hobby more than anything else. $50 video game vs $40 plastic model kits ?
