and I'd bet one day soon we may see :
build Noun /'bild
assembled, confecedt, constructed, erected, fabricated, made, made up, piece, put up, raised, rear, set up, put together
i.e. model car / build
OK, it ain't a "Build". Then what is it ? I think what we are trying to do here, is acknowledge that someone has actually built the model. Thus the model becomes a "Build".
Recognizing ones efforts in assembling, constructing, building (if you will) the model.
Nothing, as it describes just what it is, something that is or has been built. We continue to grow our lexicon through the years with new words we pick up along the way from one source or another.
Gotta admit, it's better than # Hashtag.
Just look through here https://www.google.com/search?q=custom+mini+trucks&espv=210&es_sm=93&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=l3EPU7PsNcWergHn4IDgCw&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1208&bih=751#imgdii=_ for some great ideas ?
Funny you bring that up. I heard somewhere that 80% of all pictures taken today were taken with a cell phone. And if that ain't enough , most cell phones are of a greater quality than most cameras, more pixels as well.
Have to agree with you Dean. I did four years working on the Phantom II '69-'73 in the Navy. However Pete has the answer. But his "Looks right, fly's right" don't always work, I.E. The phantom II
A few thoughts if I may.
Back in the day there were "Beaters" These were cars / Hot Rods that weren't kept up with,I.E. dirty usually unpainted/primer. Basically, just not up to par with other cars, almost a "Daily Driver" usually less. I know there was once a man got kicked out of a show for drivin one. another famous racer got the boot when he showed up with this to protest the continual changing rules they plied on him.
Another thing that comes to mind is the car () that was a fiberglass fat fender Ford Hot Rod Show car. Then the "patina" thing hit and the owner decided to have it "weathered" making it appear to be a long lost "Barn Find"
Next up is the atrocious engineering, or total lack of engineering that goes into rat rods. Can't be too much fun always worrying if yer gonna get high centered on a curb.Put some high Dollar par$t on it and it ain't no rat rod. yep. Worst thing is using perfectly good old iron for these monstrositys.
A member of the model club had a'70's Challenger and talked continually about putting a HEMI in it.
One would think ,ok, a 426 as that was what you could get in them. No He payed big money to have some one put an early 392 in it.
When he showed it to us we were quite surprised to say the least. Well, he had his HEMI.
This was just my smart /// answer at one of the club meetings. No one got it.
