  1. Other Malco Gasser Mustang kits : Was there one with a clear body ?
  2. In the resent issue of Hot Rod Delux Tommy Lee Byrd writes ; " In many cases, Coker Tire restores original tire molds and puts them back into production to create authentic tires. If the molds are not serviceable, Coker Tire seeks out the original blueprint drawings in order to build a new mold. As a last-ditch effort (if the mold and drawings are not accessible), the company will track down a true original tire and reverse-engineer it. Coker Tires licensing relationship with companies such as Firestone results in period-correct tires with the appropriate branding, sizes and style." Read through this a few times. Does it ring true to the modeling industry? In some ways and some ways not? and why not? Coker has been around for quite a while and are quite successful, wouldn't you say?

  5. For some reason this accessory was a big deal growing up in Tucson in the early '60's. don't remember what kit they came in ?
  6. Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner. good memory Mark
  7. Sadly we no longer get to see anything different in most forms of racing, same body's, same engines.
  8. Just when you thought a kit couldn't be built in any way respectable. and Dave shows us the way. Very nice, clean, innovative BUILD. and show us the engine too.
  9. For some reason, popular wisdom of today is "fog" lights only with low beams, not separate.
  10. Guess this is the place to ask this question as it will surely be moved here anyway. I just installed a set of factory "fog" lights on my new Nissan Maxima .just as many other new vehicles these lights only work when the regular lights are on. This seems to be counter productive to me. I've had fog lights on other vehicles through the years and they worked quite well as auxiliary lights and especially in the fog, cutting the glare, they were also all of the yellow type which my new ones are not. So , do I proceed and apply the yellow film to the new lights in the hope that it will give the desired effect?

  16. Ah, the Library show cases, what a great way to further our hobby. If your library has them , talk to your librarian and ask them to set up a display with their books on modeling and your models. I've done this a few times here in Phoenix.

  21. Interesting observation. Reading various threads about this kit you run across all sorts of people thinking it's a Chevy. Next up are the V-8s in the Lindberg 1/8th scale 2 in 1 dragster kit, "Exterminator" Also often mislabeled as Chevrolet.
