  1. Alan Raab of Ma's Resin has some in the works MA'S RESIN
  2. There are alot of interesting posts in the "When did you start" Thread noting when you switched to cars,I.E. Dan Baker:"Well, jeeeez! I didn't count airplanes or boats or anything but cars. But, if I do count planes and boats ... just makes me feel OLDER!". I remember building everything and then staying with planes. Along about High School 61-65, somewhere in there a friend made a coment," Why are you always building those dumb planes? Cars are better." We were at his house and every body was dipping into his extra parts building what ever they could. All I remember is whatever it was I was building had a rear box built out of a Monogram '34 Ford's hood sides. And as they say the rest is history.
  3. You'd probably like "Clearview2000" also.
  4. How about just a clear body? There are many of those out there.I started a thread on this awhile back. Let's not highjac this thread, I'll start another.CLEAR BODIES
  5. Does anyone have a date on the reissue of the MPC 1/16th clear body Charger? How many kits can you think of that have had clear bodies? Count Chuckula and I were wondering. Also, any other kits besides this DE kit that is all clear?
  6. How about a kit that was "all" chrome? Just think about it. All you'd have to do would be mask off the chrome and paint, no more BMF.
  7. I don't think anyone has mentioned anything against the manufactures.I thought this was just a discussion about the details, there uses and what kits have these great details.
  8. So many kits have such great detail inside engines that gets covered up during final assembly. Other areas like the details inside brake drums also gets covered up.Does anyone use this detail in their builds? Do you ever add details knowing full well that no one will ever see it once the model is finished?
  9. Put me down for about 56 years, started out watching my Dad, he would build them for me. One day I got impatient and built a Revell box scale B-52 ,couldn't get the wings in all the way,WOW! there was a good half inch gap. Dad wasn't very happy, but there it was, my first build.I didn't get to cars till about 1959, the first AMT hot rods and the Monogram Long John dragster. Now how do we count the gaps?College? No, built a few in the dorm. Navy boot camp didn't take too long, started right back up during "A" school.Got married, still a nice hobby. Kids? nope I remember bringing a glue bomb '40 Ford back to life waiting for my son to be born.Kinda like a long freight train stopping and starting. Oh, yeah, tried an HO lay out once too.
  10. Actually all I need is two of the Buick 'nail heads' from that kit.
  11. I think you're right on the orange plastic. I was disappointed seeing the other post showing the "white" plastic. Then the other day I was in a store and saw the kit,I almost bought it until I remembered it was white, and the box top showed a glowing "orange" car. False advertising?
  12. Here's my three cents worth: 1) AMT '41 Woody to a coupe 2) Revell '48 Convertible to a coupe 3) Revell/Monogram '65-'66 Mustang to a coupe
  13. Yeah, I've still got a bunch from the last goround, some even sealed.
  14. It's the only way I can carry a tune.
  15. Moving ? Don't even talk about moving until you look at some of the moves a military family makes.Usually at two to three year intervals. Even though I was just a service brat I moved with my family (Dad in USAF )at least five times and then a few times at each station. Arizona,Luke AFB;Germany, Freising AD;California,Edwards AFB;England, RAF Sculthorpe;Arizona,Davis-Monthan AFB, and then we settled down, Ooops I joined the Navy.
  16. Any Monogram kit based on the Blue Beetle, 'Model A pick up.
  17. So, just to be sure, are the extra parts in the most recent release ?
  18. What a cool variation. Was this in the instructions ? If not, how did you figure it out?
  19. Thanks Bill, welcome to the board. I was at the B-J auction last week and there were a bunch on cars with those tail lights a '56 too.
  20. Many questions have been brought up on many boards through the years, and answered by many of the on board experts. I was wondering if any of the model company's have anyone in their employ that would field general questions other than gripes, complaints and specific product questions. I'm thinking about questions dealing with company history, different stages of how kits are brought to market, or possibly why some decisions are made, scale, parts counts, what happened to such and such kit? If not someone from the model company's someone that may have worked for them in the past.
  21. Welcome Allen. From your name,Dragster-Dub, one might surmise you build drag cars, is this correct?
  22. . . . under glass forum, heck ! just driving around. There's just too many ideas floating around. I don't know about you, but I can't keep up with all the ideas in my head. Seems I just get a good start on a build and I think up some new great idea .So here on my bench are several started builds and new ones on the way.
  23. That was fun. Thanks Tim and Bill
