  1. What was the last new kit to be released? What's next? By who? Seems like something must be coming our way soon. The last '32 roadster from Monogram/Revell was, well, not to exciting.
  2. This seems like a no brainer for Revell to go against the AMT Double Dragster reissues:
  3. Here you go, everything you wanted to know about the best kits ever issued .AURORA Racing Scenes
  4. Interesting enough, this has been done in the aircraft industry and the automotive industry for years. Many aircraft restorers find notes hidden in various places when rebuilding old planes. This same thing happens when restoring old cars too.
  5. That's what I was thinking. How about this,"What is the least you need to build?"
  6. I'd buy them with out the tires.
  7. Has any kit been totally "reverse engineered." ? I've heard the Carl Casper Undertaker Dragster was. Then I read it wasn't.If complete kits can be "reverse engineered." , there are an awful lot out there that would be good candidates, The Aurora's Racing Scenes, the two Aurora double hot rod kits('34 and '23 Tee) and the Monogram Sizzler Dragster.
  8. What do you mean by "reverse engineered." ?
  9. '40 Ford headlights are '40 Ford headlights. The neat thing is this kit and the AMT kit ,both lend themselves to an easy sunken / Frenched style headlight setup, simply by using just a round headlight assembly that will fit into the existing opening. Just push it all the way to the back of the headlight opening. Another neat custom touch would be to use a smaller scale headlight assembly from another '40 Ford in 1/32nd scale and doing the same thing. I've done both of these and they turn out really neat and they are easy to do.Another set up would be using the same round light and forming some sort of clear cover, giving it a '60's sports car look.
  10. Greg, what are your plans for the headlights?
  11. How is John's last name, Buttera, pronounced ?
  12. I had to go find some video on line and yep there he was. I was really surprised there wasn't more of a fuss. We sure got a bunch about jr. though, go figure.
  13. What really saddens me is how so many "rat rods" are using up perfectly good Model A bodys. I know, "to each his own" and I know there are many ways to build and every one builds to suit hisownself, but to me a traditional "hot rod" really looks good.I think there is a right way and a wrong way to build a hot rod and I think "rat rods " are wrong. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
  14. This is interesting, old, new ???, rat rod? safe? You tell me ?
  15. Did I see the King, Richard Petty in the winners circle ?
  16. OK, here's what I got: Belair hardtop, no post, full side chrome: Revell; Vintage, everything opens Monogram; 1/24th AMT; old tool, custom body parts AMT; new tool open trunk Belair 2dr sedan post: Revell; California Wheels ??? post : MPC; Flip nose gasser 150 side spear chrome: Revell; Black Widow
  17. I've got all sorts of different sizes and types but I always go back to the small Exacto. I got a great multi blade and handle set from Lowes a while back and just can't bring myself to open it up and use the handle, just looks too bulky.
  18. "It would really be nice if R-M could restore this tool to the original 1964 "Little Deuce" for all of us waxing nostalgic t" speaking of their recent re-release of their '32 Ford Street Rod Classic Cruiser.I think we all do it and sometimes the model company's come through, I.E. AMT's DD, Double Tee, Monster's rods.I think their '36 Ford three window would work along these lines as well.Monogram probably has a few more than just the '32 Little Deuce.
  19. "It would really be nice if R-M could restore this tool to the original 1964 "Little Deuce" for all of us waxing nostalgic - and fix the worn body lowers while they are at it." that's what I was hoping for.But you know what they say," Hope in one hand . . . "
  20. I wonder what's in this reissue?
