  1. DIY vacform machine
  2. Picture with "sail" thingys
  3. Beatnik Bandit Bonuses I was wondering how many different Roth Kits there are available., also do any of the other kits have these "extra" parts ?
  4. I think I saw some drawings of the Orbitron in a recent Rodders Journal by Larry Watson that showed "sail panels" mounted on the top of the body in the back, kinda like a Daytona Charger.
  5. That turned us off last year. So we planed ahead this year. I'd have to say Good Guys is much better, you get to see and hear the cars run for one thing.
  6. Like I said earlier, my son and I went, It was a great experience, as always. We got four free tickets Ford was giving them away all month long for a test drive. We sold two, cha ching, there's lunch. Didn't pay for parking, the city of Scottsdale provided free bus transportation from off site lots. The bratts for lunch were great(free) oh yeah, the cars were great too, lots of clones, you had to look hard and know your stuff to tell the difference. Here's a hint, each car had a big placard telling you all about the car.
  7. Not all is bad. Both my brother and I served in the Navy during the Viet Nam crisis, I spent my time on Okinawa, he was in country twice, first on a DE on the gun line then as a cook at a PBR base.Best part of this story is his return. He flew into the Tucson airport and was met by my Mom and Dad ( WWII vet). They were having something to eat at the airport restaurant when my Mom said" Look, isn't that John Wayne?" Sure enough it was. Mom scooted my brother over to talk to the Duke John Wayne was very gracious until my brother ask for an autograph. . . The Duke says: "Do you have a pen?" When my brother answers in the negative, John Wayn says "here, give me your arm, We'll cut it, and write it in blood" My brother still has the napkin with John Wayne's autograph and a good memory of returning home from battle. By the way, the PBR base was over run by VC the week after he left.
  8. Did B-J yesterday with my son (got to ride in his '05 GTO), lots of nice stuff. I wonder if having five shows in town all on the same weekend has diluted the whole spectacle some? The classics (brass era) are no where to be seen and not a single "Hitler" Mercedes there either. There were several weird cars though, a giant V-12 tractor John Deerish motorcycle,a hot rod made out of new stuff (not an old part on it), a beer can car, and a jet powered 1955 sports car. I remember back in the seventy's most of the show was older cars, now it's mostly muscle cars. There were a lot of cars that certainly fell into the "Just because you have the money" category, a lime green ( everything under the hood was this color) '70 MOPAR with a giant Harrwood scoop bolted on the hood with no opening to the engine.
  9. I would think it would be rather big.
  10. Something I think we can all do. Jon's method is it. Great idea, thanks.
  11. I was wondering how many variations could be made with what was available.
  12. "I posted that in the "What is your dream model kit" topic" Yes you did Glenn,I thought it was so cool it needed some coverage all it's own. Thank you for posting it first. The GMP is cool and maybe an indication on where the price would be on the Allison. Your thoughts on the parts packs are good as well. That would be a great chance for Revell to trump AMT's Double Dragster tin and Double Tee. Just think about all the possibility's Revell has with their parts packs, engines, body's wheels and tires.
  13. What would it take to get Revell or AMT on board?
  14. I have a two car garage with two cars inside. I used to build models in the garage. With the kids gone I got a room inside for building. It really was too hot and cold at different times of the year.I've got models stored in the attic ,in the garage and in two different rooms of the three bedroom house. I also have a car parked outside with the paint peeling off. I'd really like to get a Pontiac G-8 GT but I don't want to park it outside. So now it's time to think about moving into a bigger house with a three car garage.
  15. My two friends Flip 'n Ollie
  16. "For those of you, like me, that are old enough to remember this show" yes I do. My brother and I each had one. One of them had floats.
  17. Another great build Cat. There are some great clips of these monsters running on U-Tube.
  18. Wild camo. Bet that was fun to do? Never too old to learn, I've been building Panzer V's since the 5th grade, the old Aurora kit, just got a 1/16th R/C from China with metal tracks so I thought I'd do some research and bought a few books. I'd never seen that type of "shadow" camo before, very intriguing.I never thought much about the tube mounted on the side and a lot of the other stuff like the big thing on each front fender.Any way I like what you did.
  19. Sandy. We had some when I was in the navy but ours were gray and white.Called 'em "Spads" too.
  20. Love the camo. Steel wheels, that must have been a screamer.
