Whatsup with the "call outs" on these cars? I've seen many with chrome or diamond encrusted numbers eluding to the wheel size, i'm guessing.It isn't enough they run the monster wheels?

I have enough "Dukes" story's to fill a book.My son was an avid fan for years. Owning a '69 from Grandma certainly lends it's self to many story's. It all started in her car port," Dad, can I play "Dukes" in Gramas car?"

I just got off the phone with friend living in northern North Dakota near the Canadian border. He said that since early this morning the snow has been nearly waist high and is still falling. The temperature is dropping way below zero and the north wind is increasing to near gale force. His wife has done nothing but look through the kitchen window and just stare. He says that if it gets much worse, he may have to let her in.

I believe you've hit the nail on the head, and I firmly believe it's the old hot rod adage: "Monkey see monkey do". and away we go on another hot rod adventure.

All of this stuff is just weird to me.

How much would a ca$e set you back ?

Aside from nostalgia, what is the draw on this kit? It is awfully crude and little or no use as a parts donor.

Phillip,a lot of people try to capture the essence of the rat rod in style and execution and fail. You my friend have succeeded in every aspect, great job. This is certainly a "build" to be proud of.

I'd say this would be a tough "build". I'd try using the pipes from the Cobra.

Let me introduce Deuce of Spades into this thread. Deuce of Spades

Save for the Big Tee. Just leafing through my copy of Rodders Journal "Deuce" and I noticed there were quite a few Deuces in kit form, American Graffiti Coupe, The Orange Crate, Li'll Coffin, Dan Fink Speed Wagon, just to name a few. I'm sure there others , while not named come very close to Deuces kitted.

So the premise being, something that isn't made now ? If not, a simple look in your stash or on your shelf to see what you have the most of. That being said, any rendition of Monograms Blue Beetle would do it for me. Now back to your question, the dream kit. Something with lots of detail, lots of building choices, 1/16th scale should do so you don't lose all of this detail and easy enough to work on.Then again, anything as good as the recent releases from Revell (think funny cars) would be fine.The final question comes down to what vehicle then, doesn't it ? How about a double kit, 289 Cobra with a Daytona Coupe thrown in for good measure ?

I guess it would depend on what you build. The new midget racers from Revell look good for hot rod parts.
