New years eve 1974 is when I finished it the first time and I am working on it new years eve 47 years later.
-
Working on the 41 Lincoln I built over 40 years ago and for some reason painted the springs silver, since I did not want to take the wheels off the suspension I brush painted the springs black bit even after 40 years the silver was not stable. What is with silver and possibly gold paints.
-
Decided to leave the body as I painted it since I have a unbuilt one that will be the nice one, this one will get tje missing lower chrome from the parts car and just the chassis and engine will be repainted.
-
Messed with it some tonight and it fell apart more then I thought it would so it might go to a full restoration, its been painted silver then gold and black again and the body is rough. Parts car has a very nice non painted body and might use it and use my body for the custom.

It was a incomplete thrift store find that I restored,in the late 60s to early 70s the state of Ohio used yellow cars and trucks for the highway department so I wanted it to look like a ex state truck. It has a big block and 4 speed with granny trans. Still need to find tail lights and hub caps so done for now.

I ended up getting a FE to put in it,was suprised it filled up thr engine compartment better then I thought it would and it was 1/25.

If I could find the parts I would like to make it stock looking outside,I do have a unbuilt 34 but not sure at this time what extra parts will be left over so it will most likely be a hotrod. I could get a resin hotrod V12 for this one and keep that stock V12 to put on a completely stock 34 in the future or after zi see what is left over after I build the other 34.

Color has not been picked out at this time and still trying to decide on stock or chopped top.

What kit did this trans cone from
junkyardjeff replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The rebuilder I picked up has a manual trans so I did not know there was a automatic option. -
Wires would be nice and what kit has a decent set.
-
I picked up a couple of that I think are a Ford O Matic trans and would like to know what they came from so I can get more,I have never built a kit that had this trans since most seem to have manual trans. Fits better then a C-6 and more correct for earlier builds that need a automatic and cam be used as a FOM,COM or FMX depending on the era. I put this one behind a FE and those trans were put behind small blocks.
-
Still not sure what rims and tires will be used and since I have a few builds going on this one will be the last that gets finished. I do have some spinner hub caps that I think will be used.
-
Rims, tires, engine and other small parts went to other projects and since the rest was in good shape I will do something with it,I have a few FEs most likely from the AMT mid 70s F350 so one is going in. I found what looks like the first generation of Fords automatic trans and it fits better them the C-6,it fills the engine compartment better then I thought it would.

Took the column shift trans off and put on a floor shift,if I could find another of the 60s 34 kit or built one I would love to stick this V12 in a stock looking 34 but the 90s version will have to do.
-
My parts Lincoln arrived so I took it apart and grabbed the parts off it for the hotrod project, the Lincoln donated the engine and two of the rims and tires. The kit is the 90s version on the Monogram 34 Ford and will need the firewall cut some, front tires are from the Revell 40 standard.

I seen pictures of that V12 and might be the best way to go,I was also thinking about going with modern suspension too but I really like old school better.
-
I am thinking about building a 41 Lincoln with modern drivetrain.
-
Is there any kits that have that engine or any in resin,I know there is a Viper V10 and might have to go that route. I normally only use old school engines but V8s look small where a V12 originally sat.
