  1. It started out with a deluxe coupe body and the sedan fenders with the 39 grille and hood, motor is a Y block from a AMT 56 kit hooked to the original 40 trans like what was done back in the 50s. Its going to look like someone pulled the flathead back in 56 and installed a new 56 motor,no chrome on the motor and will be a stock 56 motor. I found a Revell 40 standard glue bomb to get the correct standard hubcaps.
  2. Got some Testors Chrysler blue paint.
  3. My body irked me today,as soon as I walked outside this morning my bones were telling me the weather was going to be changing and they were hurting bad. I knew a headliner replacement job was going to be at work but not a lifted 4x4 so after a couple trips up in it I took a couple pain pills as I did not want it to turn me into a big grump which it did right as I was finishing it. I was in a major car wreck over 35 years ago and the damage that happened to me is starting to make more noise the older I get so maybe time to get a office job.
  4. 2wd chassis is glued togather and need to make mounts for the slant six, found a source for the rims and small hubcaps which will be ordered soon. Anybody know what color the six cylinder motors were painted in the late 70s.
  5. They will work since I really do not know the exact year it was modeled off of.
  6. Did some looking and those caps are from around 69 to about 75 and if the pictures of trucks I seen had the correct caps the 78s were similar but flatter so they might be the closest I can get.
  7. I do not remember seeing those caps on a 73 and up trucks,I do remember seeing them on 67 to 72s and some vans so I need to do some research in old dealer literature photos, now the chrome Plymouth caps they sell I remember on some 70s Dodge trucks so I will be grabbing a set of them for my same era Dodge truck project. I am going to google 78 Chevy p/u and see what I can find.
  8. I checked out Scenes Unlimited and will be getting wheels for the Chevy and Dodge truck projects
  9. The body in the pictures is the junk one and still have to cut the new body after I get a razor saw.
  10. I did pick up the caps from a 65ish truck but would rather have the correct era if possible.
  11. No custom and was originally going to be a shop van,I do have all the custom parts from the kit that I wont be using.
  12. I got a new body and a interior tub from a sedan delivery so I was getting them to fit using the old body,I cut down the back of a 53 Ford cab for the rear window.
  13. Its done enough for me.
  14. Its interesting that they used the late 50s cab up into the mid 70s.
  15. No extra windshied but only the custom parts from the kit.
  16. As much as I would like a six I do have a Pontiac motor that I might drop in to be different.
  17. I think I am going to drop it in the rear a little and having a hard time getting a correct hood, the one i got off ebay is wrong and the one I got doing some trading is better but I think its for the Revel version and I need the tail lights. I know where I can get them if I want to spend some money which might just happen tonight.
  18. I am working in the basement and has gotten much colder in the last couple days so I will let it work longer.
  19. I would like to see that show again after seeing the truck and great job.
  20. I have noticed its not working as fast as it has so I will have to replenish it.
  21. It has not been painted, that is the color it came.
  22. The frame has been painted and its starting to go back togather,I am thinking about not repainting the body.
  23. Not even one number.
  24. I think its basicly the same oil filter as a 6 cylinder.
  25. Its sitting much better now,it was almost as high as a 4x4 and might have to go a little lower in the rear. Still wanting to make it a base model truck with a 6 cylinder and dog dish hubcaps like with my Dodge truck I am also working on.
