  1. What makes those motors so prone to leaking oil,I remember them sitting at traffic lights leaving a few big puddles of oil.
  2. I will remove the manifolds and see how it fits, that is what was hitting the frame.
  3. A Peterbilt back in 74 and I still have some of it.
  4. I do not remember that one.
  5. The chassis is too narrow for the V8 so I will use it for another project.
  6. I found the remains of the Peterbuilt I built back in 74 and it has a V8 Detroit so I need to find another motor, the motor I have is not complete but another complete motor and I am there.
  7. I got them when I was about 14 and a few years before he died and is a miracle that I did not do some modifications to them.
  8. Was this motor ever in any kit,I would like to stick one in the Kenworth I am rebuilding.
  9. If my memory is correct that show came out around 73? so this truck is slightly older.
  10. Is this the same truck used in the tv show Moving on back in the early 70s
  11. I too like seeing them brought back from the dead,I am doing the same with a Kenworth 925 that fell off a shelf.
  12. I just cut the back of the frame and reglued the end part instead of cutting in the middle,I will have to redrill a few holes for the fuel tanks but that is no big deal.
  13. Did some more digging in the box and found more parts missing,it fell on the basement floor and I would think I would have seen all the parts but there are a couple still hiding.
  14. When my uncle built them I just thought they were the neatest thing looking through 4 year old eyes.
  15. I do not ever remember seeing that kit,the slicks look to be the normal big slicks of the early to mid 70s kits and if they are the two piece type I just used a set on my mustang gasser project.
  16. I have heard about it and finally got some to strip paint and I like the results and what I need to know will it also dissolve glue,I glued togather a chassis with some paint on and if it will let the glue loose I wont dip the chassis and will remember to strip it first.
  17. It came completely apart when it hit the ground and I still had the instructions,I also found some parts that were never installed that helps a bunch since it will now be completely built. Now if I could only find a V12 Detroit to stuff in it.
  18. Is the car a recreation as I thought the original was buried somewhere on their property
  19. This kit was bought to use as a donor for the chassis to convert a Orange Blossom special 37 Chevy pulling truck to a street truck but gave up so its going to be built as a 41,was going to keep it powered by a six but stuck in a smallblock Mopar that I had in stock.
  20. It was built but sat on a shelf in the basement for over 20 years since I had no room any place else until a cat knocked it off and into pieces, the only part that was damaged was the sleeper so it got tossed so I shortened the frame and made it a day cab. I do not know when it will be finished since I have plenty of others to work on first but it was saved and not tossed in the trash
  21. My uncle built these two big deuces and big tub back in the mid 60s,I was wanting to do some changes to one 32 but since they are the only things I have left that were his I will just leave them alone. They are a little dirty but I do not touch them much.
  22. Never knew there was a stock version, all I could find was the custom.
  23. I am also working on a trailer but have not gotten too far on it.
  24. It started life as a AMT p/u that I had made it as a beater dump truck but the dump bed did not look right so I made it into a road tractor, did have the original flathead but recently found the optional FE motor and tried to make it look like a late 50s motor. Still need to find headlight parts and some exhaust manifolds.
