  1. Its soaking and most of the paint is off,not sure of the color but thinking a dark metallic brown would be nice.
  2. Can not find the airbrush I bought off a friend 30 years ago so I still use rattle cans.
  3. Will have to look into one of those cleaners,I am glad I have found out about the purple power as i like getting them down to bare plastic.
  4. The last one I built was the AMT kit where it could be built as a coupe or a p/u.
  5. Never paid any attention to the 40 trucks I have seen on how the seat is put togather.
  6. Since the frames are the same as a car and if its a 1/2 ton the gas tank would be in the rear of the frame so no tank in the cab,not sure on the 3/4 tons even though its the same cab.
  7. Its been over 40 years since I last built one and I think its time to build one again.
  8. When I get back to building the coupe I think I am going to see if I can get 37 front fenders to work.
  9. The coupe will be built after I make the door lines line up with the chopped 3 window top,I wish I would have noticed that before I got started and might have to look into the recent release and see how it is to make the custom coupe.
  10. ooops no picture
  11. There is going to be a change in direction on this build,I am going to build it as a roadster since the doors do not line up to the top so I have another kit to build the chopped top version after some modifications.
  12. I have another 39 grille and hood so I think a standard sedan delivery will be in the future.
  13. I am taking a AMT 36 Ford coupe and making a late 40s custom,I found a chopped 3 window top from the original 60s kit and using the flipper hubcaps and ribbed bumpers from the 40 sedan delivery kit. Going to keep the flathead in this build since I do not have a late 40s OHV motor to put in it,I have the optional Pontiac motor from this kit but too new for the period I am going for. Deep maroon if I can find any in a rattle can with a saddle interior.
  14. If I can ever hit the lottery I am going to build a real one.
  15. One of these days I will have to learn how to use the foil and make them a little more detailed.
  16. I built it using mostly AMT parts, used original 62 kit sedan fender assembly I got locally with unused sedan 39 hood and grille also from a 62 kit my cousin built and the coupe body and frame I got off ebay. Motor is a used 56 Ford Y block and took the hubcaps from the Revell 40 standard glue bomb.
  17. It snowed about 1 1/2 inches this morning and you would have thought no one had ever seen snow,I drive a 2wd truck with no weight in the back and had no problem.
  18. Looks nice.
  19. Looking good,I built one back in the early 70s and would like to build another.
  20. I am working on one and using the chopped 3 window top from the original kit and the top does not fit very good where it meets the hood.
  21. Forgot to take it to work with me this morning,I can not paint in the basement due to the humidity and probably not been able to at work with all the snow falling off the cars we worked on so it might be a few days before I can paint
  22. Its in primer and will be in paint tomorrow.
