I have enough junk parts to build a home made p/u out of a 40 Ford 2 door sedan,I got a nice 1/25 scale home made flatbed that was made out of wood that I will use and right now its a pile of parts and a idea. I want to make it look like something a farmer would have made out of a old car years ago.

Making some progress on it,I about have the frame done and everything is going to get painted one color like a old fleet truck. since I shortened the frame I rearranged the gas tank on one side and found a shorter battery box. -

Would love to have one of those longbed 4x4s from the mid 70s again but they go for way too much money,I still have one of the dirt bikes that came with them and parts of another. Now to find a set of steel rims and small hubcaps. -
I picked it up today at a thrift type store and since it was the oldest toy I grabbed it,its about the same size or slightly larger as the kingsize Matchbox and Corgis. Its made by a company I never heard of,the Winross company of Rochester NY.

What mopar kits came with a slant six
junkyardjeff replied to junkyardjeff's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I was also told that the little red wagon had one for the stock version and I do remember building the IMC version in the early 70s that could also be built as a phone company truck so I think this mystery is solved. Its hard to remember all the kits built over the last 45 years. -

That might have been the one it came from and here it is,I found it in the 4x4 Dodge van I made with a 4x4 Chevy chassis that will get put back as a 2wd when I find a chassis. -
This is a bunch or spare parts that I am going to put togather,I am really wanting to find a 2wd chassis but if one can not be found I will use the chassis from the Warlock that I converted to 2wd and use the slant six I had for over 40 years. If I can find the 2wd chassis I am going to make it as a bare bones truck.

Was a 250 Chevy six ever in a kit
junkyardjeff replied to junkyardjeff's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have a couple 216s but would take too much work to make them look like a newer 250. -
I almost forgot about the two Hubley metal models he built for me and will have to find them, one is a 30s Packard and a 30 Model A 2 door sedan.

Winter of restorations
junkyardjeff replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
These are the ones that need the most attention so I will get them done first,I have more but they are still presentable. -
I have some new kits to build but I have been dragging out some restorations to work on,the Mustang gasser and the Kenworth and now I found a MPC late 70s Chevy stepside and a Mustang II that need parts and originally built in the late 70s. Since they have been waiting all these years its time to get them done.

They came as stepsides but I would like to find a wide bed to put on it so are there any other 73-9 GM p/us ever made with a short wide bed except for Monogram 1/24 versions that are too big.

Speaking of Detroit's
junkyardjeff replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
There is another two stroke diesel that sounds just like a Detroit but its a British motor, its a opposed motor but not like you would think and would be hard to describe but I would like to have one in a mid 50s Commer cabover.
