  1. See that blob of plastic on the upper right? Thats a short shot of the rear Stylizing extension to the 57 Chevy. See bottom left of second photo. If Round2 opens all the gates a bunch of people are gonna be real happy.
  2. They didn't mess with the tool like they did with the 57 Ford. Everything should be there shy of the 4 hole Halibrand mags for the back and the custom wheel covers. Both easy enough to retool. This could be the best reissue of this kit in 47 years.
  3. That's what John Greczula told me during correspondence we had regarding another another kit. Apparently they changed their mind. I'm certain 95 percent of the original stylizing parts are still in the tool, so other than the custom wheel covers they could simply open all the gates for a straight reissue of the 1st Pepper Shaker. That would get me excited enough to buy several.
  4. Sorry about that. I didn't see the other floggings.
  5. A little off topic but sadly John O'Neil passed away a couple of months ago. Cancer strikes again.
  6. you are welcome. I think the other thing to consider would have to do with logic. The Eliminator Coupe is a iconic and finished vehicle. To build something so wildly different, it would be easier, cheaper and more sensible to start with another vehicle.
  7. What makes you think that's the Eliminator? For one thing, the one in the pic is a 34.
  8. Niiiiiice! Go to a music supply store ask them if they have any used guitar strings. Mine gave me some cheap new ones for free.
  9. I think it would look pretty cool with stock headlights.
  10. Very nice build on a seldom seen model!

    '60 Vette

That is purty. What did you paint it with?
  12. Took the words right out of my mouth. (Compare windshield trim with the photo of the real one. It's Ertl's mistake.) Love the red!
  13. Mavericks never came from a stateside factory with a 289. Last year of production for the 289 was 1968. Mavericks came out in late 69 as a 1970 model. They did get the 302 in 1971.

I'd say you got pretty close on the Fawn Beige. Looks good!
  15. Holy cow that's nice. I love it!
  16. That is way cool. I love it!
  17. Gorgeous. I've always been a sucker for a Karmann Ghia. Hard to believe those same guys (Ghia) built the Lincoln Futura body. Anyway, super nice work!
  18. Super nice great execution too. While I'm not usually a fan of the big wheels either they do work here. The only thing I would change is that on all Fairlane hardtops the entire A pillar is covered with a stainless steel trim plate with no body color in the center. That's an Ertl screw-up.
  19. Heres a clone of Monogram's original issue of their trusty 30 Model A Woody. It's kind of a companion piece to the Blue Beetle so it seemed only fitting to borrow the rolling stock and front axle from the recent Blue Bandito kit to combine with the 2007 Revell reissue. Testors Flame Red lacquer is very close to the original crimson plastic, while Tamiya Light Tan matches the original wood sides perfectly. I wish I would have known sooner or I would have used the 3 bar knock offs from the Predicta which are a perfect match. I made the license plates in Photoshop to match the box art.
  20. I actually just let that 66 go on ebay a few weeks ago. (Didn't want to. Just needed the money.) It is a great survivor and that's how I was preserving it. Here's another cool survivor I have. This is the MPC 64 with its unique one issue only blower scoop. Rear wheels and slicks appear to be Revell. If you like old builds check out Scale Survivors on Facebook.
  21. Palmer 64 MPC 66 annual and AMT 64 annual survivors. Also have a pretty cool MPC 64 I'm trying to find my photo of...
  22. That's purty. Which Revell kit? Tweedy Pie or Rat Rod?
  23. Actually the first 75 Cobras all had 260s. And there is little if any diffence outwardly between a 260 and an early 289. Later 289s had the oil filler moved from the timing cover to the rocker cover, and in 65 went from a 5 bolt to a 6 bolt bellhousing. The 66 Mustang kit is where the oil filler issue is a bigger problem.
  24. Gorgeous! Chip would love it I'm sure.
  25. Nice looking build. I'd put the MPC kit abpve the AMT kits however. The only real issues being that MPC wiped the Corvette scripts and factory exhaust when the Streaker Vette was issued. Oh, and the lack of a big block. They also subbed in the 1964 interior and non sprung suspension. The improvement they did make over the annual kit is the correction of the fender louvers which were incorrectly vertical (not sloped). This is a Streaker Vette issue I built as a teen during the 70s.
