Nice job. Those big rims and dark paint make the car appear smaller, almost like a Ford Falcon size.
-
Looks cool. I did a Tamiya bug and that kit was super nice to build.

If you are referring to the "light blue" stripe across the top of the trunk, that is a reflection.
-
If you are speaking about the "V" on the trunk, yes, I couldn't find it on the sprue. Whats missing on the taillights? Other than painting the chrome.

Beautiful job all around! Have one in the que. Thanx for setting the bar higher.

Here's my latest. The '56 Del Ray Sedan from Revell. This finishes my tri-five Chevy projects (55,56,57 and a 55 Nomad 4x4). This kit was fairly smooth. The chassis on the other hand was a nightmare. I had purchased a tubbed one from the internet and it was just a horrible modded mess. I had to really clean it up to allow the interior to fit down on the frame. I would have been better off doing it myself from scratch. Tried to save time, but it was way more time consuming to fix this guys mess. Live and learn I guess. After dealing with that I decided to just put a basically stock 327 dual carb engine in rather than the 454 Blower one that I had ready as it was to be a straight axle gasser. This would have entailed more mods to the chassis not to mention hacking up the hood for it to fit. So what I ended up with was a Hybrid of sorts. Looks like it would haul arse, but it's a glorified grocery getter in the end. Not happy with my color choice either, but I like my models all to be different colors. As usual I used Rustoleum rattle cans and no clear. Chrome pen instead of BMF and Tamiya Smoke for the window tint. Thanx for looking!

That is the color orange I was looking for! Awesome looking bug. Very clean build. BTW, is there a little man in the trunk?

Received this kit from my kids for Christmas and just got to it this month. Pretty simple kit and I did nothing special to it really. I used Rustoleum Strawberry Fields for the main color. I didn't want a fire engine red and this looked cool to me. Tinted the rear windows with Tamiya Smoke which is much better than the Testor's Window Tint, IMO. Added some BMF to the firewall too. Came out wrinkle free! Yippee!! Put the rear bumper on it since it was in the box. Anyways, here it is. Thanx for looking!

Revell Bronco vs. Revell Baja Bronco
Mahogany Rush replied to Mahogany Rush's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Activepowersports.com does not have it. They are right around the corner from me and I spoke with them. They are just a warehouse and he said he does not have it in stock even though the site says otherwise. Believe me, I have been shopping around for it and haven't seen it less than $45 plus shipping in the U.S. Please PM a link to it if you see one in the $25 range. Thanx -
Revell Bronco vs. Revell Baja Bronco
Mahogany Rush replied to Mahogany Rush's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Perfect answer to my questions. Thanx! I'll save myself the hassle and get the Baja Bronco for my project. BTW, your built one looks like what I am going to do, except bigger tires and a Maroon color with white top. Good job! -
Question to anyone who has built either one of these. I would like to know, since there is such a drastic price difference (double), how easy to make the regular Bronco into the Baja version? I ask because I am trying to replicate my dad's old 1970 Bronco which was lifted, big tires and had the rear fenders cut with flares. If I buy the regular Bronco, I will need to cut the rear fenders and buy a flare kit plus get bigger tires. Anyone done this? Was the flare kit easy to do (get right)? I may be answering my own question here as I need to buy the flare kit and bigger tires plus do the cutting of the fenders which I will not need to do on the Baja version. Any other differences in the 2 kits? Just let me know your experience with either of these kits. Thanx

1968 Dodge Charger with Viper Twin Turbo

Dang. That is nice. -

Yes it is, LOL. I dropped it onto the floor after applying glue. I picked it up and stuck it on. After it dried I noticed it and said "F it, I'm a rebel!"
-
LOL, no prob. But mine is also under the gas tank. That's how they made the model.

I see what you mean. My thought was that the trunk release would be directly behind the middle bumperette, so I placed it lower on purpose, but after staring at it, it does look way wrong. I will fix it now. thanx

It has carpet like the rear window ledge , just after the pic was taken. The chrome was to hide the sloppy transition of the two-tone and since it had no chrome lines on the fenders. The engine was my choice not to go with stock blue paint, my preference.

Stunning all around. Loved the dash treatment as well as the wood siding. I left the hood hinges off mine and it closed perfect I forgot which grille I used, but I call mine a '48. Thanx again for the trade, it worked out well for both of us.

Finally finished this as I had to wait on replacement glass (provided by Hi-Po), thanx a bunch! Nice kit that fit together pretty good. Nice engine detail. I went with a 2-tone scheme as I haven't seen one like it. Went with Rustoleum Gloss Almond for the body/hood, then Rustoleum Gloss Kona Brown for the fenders, the engine was done with Rustoleum Warm Caramel and the interior main color was Rustoleum Satin Nutmeg. No clear coat on this one. Thanx for looking!

Nice and clean. Interior looks flawless.
