  1. They came in all colors and styles. The fancy ones were "worth" more. And you always had your favorite shooter. You would draw a circle in the dirt and each player (normally two) put the same amount of marbles in the middle. One would win the privilege of shooting first and use their shooter to knock the other marbles out of the circle. If your shooter stopped in the circle without knocking another out it was the other players turn and just became another marble. Every time you knocked out a marble it was yours to keep. You could then shoot again from where it stopped if in the circle. If it went out you could shoot again from anywhere outside the circle. That's where the saying "for all the marbles" meant. Whoever had the most at the end won and kept them. A little like pool with the circle boundary instead of a table with pockets.
  2. And all vehicle gas available to the public is unleaded so using that moniker by the EPA and gas companies makes you think there is something else out there (leaded) and that's a misnomer. The only leaded out there is AV gas and we all know that it is illegal to use that in a car...
  3. actually "John Deere" green is very close.
  4. I'm surprised that I haven't seen or read a reply about marbles. Most fun in the world. Used to carry mine in an old "Seagrams" felt pouch.
  5. The higher level of ethanol can affect other parts of your fuel system IE. gaskets, seals, O-rings etc. This is why the manufacturers have the 10% max statements. The newer cars have rubber fuel system parts that are impervious to the alcohol. And just remember the higher the alcohol content, the lower the mileage you will get.
  6. Come on, They were advertised in comic books along with Charles Atlas and seahorses you could hatch. no child even knew how to get their money back let alone explain to their parents why they wanted to see through peoples clothes.
  7. Its Great to see young blood involved in the hobby.
  8. The MB without a spare are generally Bluetec (diesel) and the adblue tank sits in the spare tire well. Car has runflats so a spare is not needed. Runflats do work but give a much harsher ride. Transmissionshave not had dipsticks for several years. Engines do.
  9. 1958 Lincoln Convertible. Its a tank and a convertible. Pack up the wife and more kids than sensibility says you should have and go anywhere comfortably. Its got a 5 person trunk. Need to get wood from Lowes or Home Depot just put the top down and haul it. What else would you want besides a garage big enough to park it in. :)?
  10. Sweet!!! just don't tell me its running a small block Chevy for an engine....
  11. Gee the Model A only has 1 fuse. If the starter quits I can still crank it and I can change the tires with the same tool. I just can't figure out where to hook the OBDII reader so I can check the emissions equipment...
  12. Most owners of those vehicles can't even check the oil let alone figure out why it quit.
  13. How about an "Original" R2D2 model from the late 70's.
  14. Almost forgot about this one, it was under the tree in either 67 or 68. Box is ratty but the car still works. I think it was one of the first RC cars made. It also explains why I have always owned FORDs and mostly Mustangs. I think it is rare since it was bought on mainland Japan hence the box is in Japanese.
  15. My hot wheels and track (early 70's) are still upstairs. Almost forgot the Lincoln logs from the 60's are keeping the Hot Wheels company
  16. and to think the Ramchargers were all Dodge engineers that wanted to play on the weekends.
  17. Thanks
  18. I have to ask which sunbeam kit is sitting behind it?
  19. It is a type 59. Saw it when I visited Ray Jones at his house and then shop. Took a bunch of pics but should have taken even more.
