I seem to remember in an interview between Danny Bonnaducci and I think Chris Night that their TV Moms were almost swapped. Florence Henderson got cauht up in a snow storm and almost didn't make it to do her audition and Shirley Jones had also auditioned for it and she almost ended up as Mrs. Brady instead if Henderson hadn't been able to make it!

IIRC, those BFG's also came with most of the versions of the MPC/AMT 80's Dodge Daytona kits too.

I know, looks like part of the grill is Desoto, the arches over the headlights might be '57 Ford and the part under might be Bulletnose Studebaker, not sure about the A-Pillars and windshield, but I'd swear that roof is Tri-5 Chevy.

Thanks Bill! I'm thinking about doing the rework that I sketched up to one of the large, flat box '49 Merc kits I already have, even though the chop is different. I may get a pic of the original concept in ink, which I did in the last 10 minutes at the office when things were quiet, the shapes are different (it even looked more like the longer V-12 Lincoln with the first 18" of sheetment swapped that of a Merc's) , but the concept is still the same.

Now for those who didn't know what I was talking about with the Barris and Bettancourt Mercs, I found this image of 6 chopped Mercs that included the reworked doors and quarters for a consistent, smooth fade, as well as just stock with a chopped top. As well as Dave Stuckey's (of Lil' Coffin fame) King of Mercs Mercury as well as the change done to the equally famous Hirohata Merc, which itself had a variation of the the idea that I was thinking of.....and very well may have subconsciously inspired the change in my drawing. I also found this one that I thought was......interesting.........as well. Not sure if it's in a good or bad way either.

Ok Bill, love some of your's and Harry's input on this, just did a loose sketch on the back of a receipt from the dealership we've bought our cars from of what my thoughts were on the change to the dog leg in the door as well as that portion of the quarter panel.

Other than just raising and flattening it out so it was just one continueous body like like on the Barris and Bettancourt Mercs, has anybody ever tried playing with the shape of the well known dog leg in the '49-'51 Mercs? I've started doodling again and came up with an interesting and/or possibly just stupid design change for that portion of those doors and can't find much via Google searches other than that one particular change to the doors and quarters.

I bought at least a dozen of the '88 Dodge Daytona kits when RC2 reissued the kit some years back, the did the same last year with AMT's new Snap General Lee kit. I bought the Daytona kits since I'm a bit of Turbo Mopar nut and didn't know when the kit would be back out. With the GL Snap kit, I bought one when it first came out, liked it, then when the whole mess with that kid shooting up that church, I didn't know if that kit was going to remain in production, get turned into something different, or just be dropped all together, never to be seen again, so I figured that if I could still get them for now, might as well buy a few!

Gotta agree with the sentement Harry, got a bunch of coworkers in customer service that are Cubs fan....... work tomorrow should be interesting! Already have had explosives going off around here, must be getting rid of the left overs from The 4th and Labor Day........

Consumers here have all but run from station wagons and minivans, as well as mid and full sized sedans, compact cars, Full Sized Vans, real SUVs of any size, even sporty cars all for CUVs, otherwise know as crossovers. Basically they take a car or minivan plaform, give it AWD as an option (typically FWD) make a short length, tall in height station wagon out of them with lower mileage, and poorer handling compared to station wagons while loosing the space and utility of eigher size of van, as well as the off road capability of f/s vans and proper SUVs.

Finally got my little Tamiya Suzuki Jimny painted and stickered yesterday......they truck has only been built for a year now...................

That's why I asked Bill, read that thread and was wondering on the Self Etcher, figured the engine enamel might be safe.

Will these be ok to use on plastic? Bought them for use on the RC4wd stamped steel 1.55" "Landy" Wheels I bought for one of my trail trucks and could only get in bare metal and now have the two massive and comparitively huge cans. Sorry, can't get the pics to load, one is a can of their self etching automotive primer in a matt olive drap color while the other is their engine enamel w/ceramic in silver.

Just used mine for the first time trimming some of the making on a R/C body, worth every penny already

Got my Telluride out to the Batavia Riverwalk and Challenge Dam today, first time the truck has been there and first time for me since 2011 or 2012.

I'd buy a kit of that.

Definately look at the newer 2.4ghz radios and maybe even one of the "waterproof" Rx boxes made by Traxxas for the receiver. I'd also look at a rechargeable 5 cell/6volt receiver pack to power the electronics in the boat over just using 4AA's, not only will it be rechargeable, but then you have more voltage to power the receiver and servos, which will give you better radio and servo responses over 4 AA akalines or a 4 cell/4.8volt rechargeable pack. Delending on what shape the servos are in, you may consider replacing and upgrading those to torquier and waterproof. Since I'm not in the field any more, I'm not sure what is best any more, but considering how nice it looks and the power levels it should have, I wouldn't skimp on the quality of parts.

Picked up a '59 Caddy last weekend for $8.99 when I went to get Dad a '53 F100 with the 40% coupon.

I've never really gotten into boats, but if you have pics, I can give it a shot!
