1/25 AMT '76 Gremlin X 2n1 coming from Round 2
Joe Handley replied to SteveG's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I didn't realize that Hot Wheels had one till last month when I saw one of their reissues last month. -
The Hudson was more of a "for the heck of it" sketch, but would work for insperation towards others thoug

Shouldn't be that hard to find a fleet of insurance write offs to start with at least, they're already "lost" anyway, so why worry about frankensteining a few together and cram them under a Van, Matador, or Monza.... To bad there wasn't a better Ford GT kit made, a couple of those would work nicely under inder that re-issue of the Ford Econoline kit

Wow, that thing is pretty wild!
-
Uhg, wonderful, just wonderful!

I picked a couple of those recently and was thinking of doing the same, but with first gen Viper kits instead........and yes, the V-10 would stay there too! Got a Revell Monza "Street Machine" and I've thought a out combining it with a new Revell ZR-1 kit! You know Chuck, it's a good thing these are only in scale, can't you just see the purists frothing at the mouth if somebody destroyed multiple Vettes or Vipers to create these beasts in 1/1 O_O

Corvette Turbine by Testors
Joe Handley replied to torinobradley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Never seen it, sounds cool though. -
Dang it, you two got me thinking now! That might be possible in a way, do something in the trans to lock if to the "motor" so that while the car is coasting, the "motor" turns at that speed and maybe do something to draw in fresh air and re-route the "exhaust" back into the tank.....kinda like regen braking on electric and hybrid vehicles!

AirHogs had some toy planes out in the late 90's that worked that way and motor wise, they ran pretty good for a tiny, clear plastic, single cylinder , backwards air compressor. If you had one fully aired up and just let it loose (it had no obvious form of mechanical throttle), they would try to pull themselves out of your hand if you didn't have a good enough grip on them and had a pretty aggressive sounding "exhaust note" (sorry, don't even know what that should be called) that sounded a bit "chopperish"! I think to make a street car out of the concept would require a car about the size of a Geo or Nash Metro with an insanely aerodynamic body and as mechanically efficent as possible, with the biggest airtank(s) that will fit under it.

Kinda reminds me of some of the Acuras we get here, keep it up!

Rover I think, IIRC he found a Mini in the junkyard and used it as a basis for this car.

Thought it looked like GoodWood, that would have to be one of those bucket list things for me!
-
That should be pretty nice when done!

Alclad Black basecoat
Joe Handley replied to Evil Appetite's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Never used the stuff, last time I airbrushed the lexan stuff down I had to use an acrylic and have have found that the Pactra Backing Black for some of the multistage RC paints also works fantastically for the rattle can chrome. Since it seems to smell and behave like Enamel paint, it should be styrene safe. -
Wonder how many people here know what the 2% means........I didn't until a few years back!
