  1. I honestly don't know, it could be an old pic of the real or a replica 1:1, but IIRC the 1/18 was made by a company that does some of the best diecasts out there.
  2. Are they mixing parts from teh two then? The pictures of the parts trees on the bottom of the box show the newer AMT Cornet.
  3. Check out the RC paints next time you're at your LHS;)
  4. The HTU I work for got one of the 500KR kits in, but haven't seen the '51 Chevy Convertable just yet. I also was looking at the box for the "MRC" '70 Cornet at the I-Hobby show and if you look at the pictures of what's included in the kit, that is the 90's era AMT B-Body '70 Cornet in a box with "period style" box art.
  5. Filled up my CHerokee today, only paid $25 for 14 gallons of gas.......seem strange to pay so little to do so
  6. The Marathon and Phillips 66 in West CHicago (a city in Dupage Co, not West Side of Chicago) were both $1.69 a gallon and the P66 had $1.46 for a fillup and car wash
  7. Good point, should see how much they can take up if surfing from my cell phone
  8. What was up with the driver of that Rambler?
  9. Looks good, I like the color choice!
  10. Sounds like the mid 50's Buick (a '53 IIRC) in the Stephanie Plum Mystery series by Janet Evanovich, she pulled the hand brake and used the seatbelts in the car all the time
  11. Well, he could have stuck it in a Rustang
  12. Thanks guys, must have been more tired than I thought when I posted that
  13. More like a yellow spotch on the back window, guess you don't need to ask "That thing gotta HEMI?"
  14. To me THAT is the main problem right there, I feel that the government should give the Big 3 that money just because of what they have to spend to make cars that are being foisted on us because of those ###### regulations!
  15. Are you looking for something specific or just out to look and see what's out there? I work at the Hobby Town USA in St. Charles...which is a ways outside of teh city, plus there's several other HobbyTown franchises in the Chicago area too. Then There's Al's Hobbies in Elmhurst, Leisure Hours Hobbies in Joliet, Venture Hobbies in Wheeling, and there's also RC Hobbies in Naperville, but they are almost exclusively RC. All of these other shops mainly deal in RC but also carry plastic model stuff too.
  16. Looks like a well done plastic or die cast model.
  17. Ooooohhhhhhhhhhhh.........cool project, can't wait to see it done! Well, that was only a couple feet though
  18. I'm going with real here.
  19. Figured it had to a large scale model, it didn't look right for a real bike but seemed to well detailed to be a smaller (1/12-1/25) model.
  20. I did the same on a set of chrome rims for my Traxxas Stampede, only using the Pactra RC version of the paint and have beat the livin' snot out of the truck with those rims and the pant has held pretty well all things considered (as in 30+mph cartwheels ) I be willing to bet the only difference between the Pactra R/C and Testors/Model Master window tint paints are the labels around the cans and cap stickers since Pactra is part of Testors. Here's some pics of the truck after a rather high speed slide (maybe 25-30mph) into the curb infront of the HTU I work at to show the durability without even clearing them. Front Rear that blew the bead in the wreck Heres the rest of the carnage, gotta love RPM's nylon parts
  21. Workin' and that is all!
  22. Great pics ismaelg, far better than my cell phone camera (1mp). Gotta agree with the whole texting thing, I've maybe done 10 text messages since getting my first cell phone in 2001, got one co-worker who can get that in 1 shift! I do use mine on occasion for checking e-mails and web surfing, great for killing time on lunch or waiting while Mom was in physical therapy. Think I was behind somebody who was texting while driving, couldn't keep their SUV pointed in a straight line, actually I think I've seen drunks do a better job of vehicle control than this knucklehead was!
  23. Funny, I was thinking that it sounded like NA$CAR too
