  1. Funny you mention that Harry, I've got the 1/10th scale RC model Rover Mini-Cooper from Tamiya and sometimes take it to work You wouldn't believe how many people have told me that they thought it was anywhere from 1/12-1/18 scale because they didn't realise these cars are that small!
  2. I want to say Earl, but I'm not absolutely positive on that. Is it me or does that windshield look too ###### tall on that car.....seems like a stock (any generation really) or better yet chopped windshield would fit that car better?
  3. Should be interesting to see what happens if the Sox go all the way and the Cub don't choke............................again If that isn't enough of a sign as to which team I prefer.......read the first lines of my sig
  4. Oh lava rocks! Bob had a few of those on his crawler course, great traction and they weighed next to nothing! Now the Jeff and a few others are talking about building and competing with mud racers, the "trail rig" class would pretty much eliminate my WK from that class, but there's goinf to be a "pro" class that will be open to most anything short of a Maxx style truck (although with a little imagination, the Traxxas Slayer could work )
  5. Either a ###### fine model or ###### fine artwork.
  6. Went to a crawler club cookout and get-together saturday and the club member who's house it was at decided to dig a little mud pit right before we got there. The club president and myself were the only ones brave enough to give it a try after he added more water and mixed it up a little better But tomorrow....the cleanup begins The bog My Wheely King TJ Jeff's PTI TJ This pic of my WK was taken by Cedric Vann, who won the summer comp series Here's some post bog pics of the two trucks Jeff's truck body off My truck Body off and the two sitting nose to nose Oh, if you're wondering how thick that mud was, here's a vid of me removing my WK from the pit after getting it stuck. If you listen closely, you can actually hear a slurping sound as the truck comes out of the mud
  7. Roof really works good on that car, would look better with slightly more detrimming and a slight drop in the front ride height.
  8. Hahahahahaha, heard a story like that from a customer about his niece and her BF, I just can't repeat it here
  9. I'd leave them off, looks better like it is!
  10. Had one like that last year, I ###### near turned the headlights off while driving home from work one night just to see if it would improve how far I could see in the snow, then later had my Father and a different person both tell me that may have been to my advantage that night
  11. SOunds like a drive home from work one night a few years ago, took me 1 hour to go 6 miles. The roads wouldn't have been a problem no matter which vehicle I'd have been driving at the time (I now have a CHerokee, but my Lebaron Turbo or Shadow Turbo wouldn't have had any trouble then either ), but it was the road-tards that always forget how to drive and can't drive more than 5mph in snow that I could drive 15-20 mph on a FWD with bald tires in
  12. Looks good sofar, you going to tint the windows too?
  13. I sprayed a set of Traxxas Twin Spokes (molded in off white nylon) for my Stampede with Pactra Window Tint Paint to give them a blacked out look earlier this year, should be possible with either the Pactra or Model Master window tint paint This is another set to show you how they looked before I painted them Here's how they came out And here's why I did it, I wanted the "Lord Vader" look to the truck
  14. Hmmmm, it kinda does Zuk!
  15. No kidding, it's like that here in Chicago too and FWD, RWD,AWD,FT 4WD, and PT 4WD doesn't matter in some cases either, it's just different ways of getting yourself into trouble if you don't have a clue about how to drive in the first place!
  16. Funny you mentioning the wing windows, I had also been thinking about that the other night (just not too sure if it wasn't the glue thinking though ) I will take a closer look at the rear valence panel in comparison to the quarters too.
  17. Good choice gasman, I've got a Stampede and love it!
  18. beautiful, just beautiful!
  19. Just going to be shaved, kustom facias from the kit, and a sever loss of altitude over Pegasus Torque Thrust look alikes running a 17"/23" Fr/Rr combo.
  20. Very neat, love the widend pizza wheels too!
  21. We get those days around here too, IIRC this was in less than one full day and it's not like my Jeep is running rubber bands for tires either
  22. Real, look at the sag in the drive chain.
  23. Guys when it comes to flooded basements and models.... Rubbermade is your friend! Trust me on this, even though most of my collection is in a storage area instead of a basement (or built and on display ), those have already paid for them selves to boot!!!!!!!! Just look at places like Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Meijer, and the like for sales on that type of product. Not only is it easier to keep things dry, , but they stack neatly and they work great if you are moving and need to transport things!
  24. ok, let me get this straight.....he would "key" his freshly painted body and "touch it up" with the color of choice? I'd screw that up for sure
  25. That sucks Ken, we got a good amount on the Dupage/Kane County boarder but luckily nothing like that at home. I was talking to somebody yesterday who lives in Bartlett and he watched some kids ride bikes through a flooded parking lot and one of them dumped their bike....when this kid went down he completely disappeared under the water He also ran across a full size van in about 3ft of water (literally half sunk!) BTW, do you still listen to The Loop?
