If you think a XKE and C2 Vette look alike, you may want to have a closer look at what you're drinking.....or meds, if not both!
-
Went and played with the configurature, here's what I got. That said, if I were to get a Challenger Scat Pack, it would look like this.

Or at least a Portillo's burger! It's cooled off enough here that I can actually open a window with there being a sauna effect while doing so!

Ok, didn't do much lately on the car, just smoothed out the Miliput I used to fill in the sunroof seams and glues the mirrors to the body as well as cleaned up the panel gaps further, since they were pretty bad to almost non-existant in this kit. Figured it would come our better if I glued the mirrors to the body now and then masked around them for the semi-gloss black window surrounds and beltline rub strips.Ended up using my Dremel to grind down the putty so I could sand it smooth, I think next time I use that stuff, it's going to fill actual dips, like where the door handles were on one of the AMT '59 Imperials I'm building as a mild custom.......

I couldn't afford or fit in it That said, the more I see on it, the more impressed I am by it!

Vette, looks better and you could buy a fleet for the price of that GT.

REVELL Metalflake Kits

I think it's how that plastic enters the molds and settles into place. -
REVELL Metalflake Kits

These were too, I think it was meant to represent Sante Fe Blue that was an option on the Shelby Chargers and GLH Omnis. For reference, this really, really clean looking '83! -
Welp, today has not gone as expected.........

Just sent a note to my Dr, since this also put me at my deductable for the year, I should be able to get other issues taken care of now that affect my mobility and range of motion too! -
Thanks guys!

I was wondering about that, these seemed smaller than I remembered!
-
I've seen that before too, although a Charger cut down to that size, but with the aeroheadrests could be interesting too

Please don't take this the wrong way since I'm criticizing post WW2 Ford here and not your work, but....... Wow, that stock drop top Merc windshield frame looks all sorts of off compared to even an unchopped coupe and just kinda wonky at best with the rest of the movie car's lines! Explains the chopped and raked top Rob Ida and crew did on an otherwise stock appearing in '17 or '18.

Electric Hot Rod
Joe Handley replied to Richard Bartrop's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If you're aiming for a TRoG racer, I would think something like that would be more appropriate anyway. What were you going to use for batteries, charger, and motor controller? Think if I was going the Tesla sourced route a more modern style of hot rod, or even a Roth like showcar might be more appropriate. -
I have to think an evolution of one that is shortened to E-Body dimensions, topless (but more windshield), and with the Daytona nose (but no wing) and '68 taillights and panel, then lowered to about the same altitude as a modern Hellcat sedan would be pretty neat looking.
-
I believe that car has been restored to that original iteration too! I think at one time the car ended up with a Daytona nose cone and '70 taillights and panel!
-
Thanks guys, this is just off the wall enough that it will make for an interesting finished product!

They already suggested paying $136/month, which would pay it off in July '22, which I would rather not let run that long. What I may do is that ince I get my car insurance paid (most of what I would have given Dad for the $600+ on my 2 went towards the heart dr. bills from this visit), I plan on paying around $100/wk as much as possible. Still need to see what I'm going to do with my Jeep too, it's still has no brakes and rust juse keeps getting worse. -
Have you checked your car lately?
Joe Handley replied to SfanGoch's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm surprised that doesn't exist. Used to work with another lefty and one day he showed up at the HTU we worked at with a couple pairs of "left handed" needlenose pliers (I think they were bent tip as well), and couldn't believe how much easier they made some jobs! I was just so used to grabbing what was on hand and adapting to use those that I never thought that such things existed! -

Insured, but higher deductable and out of plan expenses. -
Finally got around to doing more work on this car today, filled the holes left by the C-Pillars by chopping a couple wedges out of the roof and trimming them to fit. Also ordered up some of the smaller Redline tires from AMT a while back, seemed to go well with the whole build.

Got a chance to mess with the Shelby Z tonight, started puttying the seam for the sunroof, cleaning up the glue seams on the seats and engine/trans, and then started working on the stance, justusing the OEM Eggshell wheels until I get the Minilights later on this week. Oh, also pulled the '69 Charger Convertible project out and shot the two together. Forgot how much bigger the B-Body Chargers were in comparison to the G-Body Daytonas, or any of the K-Car offshoots Also popped that crunched Recall Wheel onto the left front, just out of curiousity........ I may have to try the other set of Recalls I bought on one of the other Daytona kits I've bought over the years

How does this sound, I had ordered new checks 2 weeks ago after procrastinating and being down to my last one and ordered for the express delivery, which should have been here last saturday, but they never arrived. I give it until mid week and looked further, found that they were "delivered" last Saturday and we couldn't find them incase we missed them. I called the printer and they were going to print up and send out replacements with the next batch of numbers to be here early next week. Went by the local P.O. to advise them of the situation on lunch yesterday and tey were going to put a track on things, then stopped by my bank today to see what to do here and they put a hold on the missing batch numbers. Just before I get ready to leave, Dad texts me that I got checks in then mail......I went and grabbed lunch and checked when I got home, the ones that showed up are the original order. Since the timing was right, I mentioned it to the bank employee that was helping me and we set things up so that I can pull that hold order with a call on Monday, at least.

No matter what they call it, the engine is in the wrong place for a Corvette, to me anyways.
