  1. Thanks, guys. Looks like I have a fun Friday evening ahead. Gotta lay in some beer, dogs, and popcorn! I'll let you know how it goes . . . or how it went!
  2. Thanks, Mike. I got most of it cleaned up already - by following your lead and Bill's. I'm still working on a bigger bug-a-boo: KNCTR. Malware says it has to be 'not running' to eliminate it, but it is running constantly, so the malware won't work. Catch-22.
  3. Thanks, Bill. I appreciate your help. I cleaned up the Shockwave conflict and things are all better. I also added AdBlock and ~ wow! How refreshing is that!! Now I'm trying to eliminate KNCTR. What a pain that is to exterminate. Have my anti-virus software running overtime. {It must be the virus season.}
  4. Speaking of software nightmares, what is Shockwave? I'm pretty sure I've never sought, bought, or asked for Shockwave, yet I periodically get a message (when refreshing a website page) that 'Shockwave Flash has crashed' and asking me to click to reload it. I don't, but then I have to close and re-open the website in another browser tab. While I'm in techno-dummy mode, does anyone know what taskeng.exe is?
  5. Appealing to all the Paul Blarts of the world.
  6. Actually, it was Bernalillo, NM.
  7. Too much agave juice and peyote.
  8. [I tried to add a reply to another topic and all the little electrons showed up here instead of where I wanted them. ] Resume regularly scheduled programming, now in progress.
  9. No prob; glad to help, Alan. I was disappointed that such an outstanding kit had such comic-book 'cop car parts,' but that seems to be par for the course.
  10. Are you hooked on Phonix, Patrick?

  12. Wow, Harry. You REALLY are having a bad time! Didn't you notice that little scam of theirs when you signed up? You know, it was right there . . . on line 4,583 of the User Agreement you electronically signed after you scanned through it. They COUNT on no one ever taking time and trouble to read those "agreements." Seriously, my sincerest sympathies for the lousy year you've been having. Hope it just keeps getting better and better!

  14. Mike, Being back in your old self . . . is that a good thing? Just kidding, you know.
  15. Dittos, Pete!
  16. Here's what the R2 website says: BUILD & DISPLAY SET - SECURITY CAR SERIESItem No: HL123 Release Date: June 2015 Lindberg re-introduces its line of Crown Victoria models with a new spin and an added bonus! These well-engineered and detailed kits come completely pre-painted and come with new decal options to decorate in several fun schemes ranging from asylum security to mall security cars and more. On top of this great model, a stunning display case is included to showcase the finished model. The case is suitable for use with any 1/24 or 1/25 automobile model. The case is crystal clear and features a chrome diamond plate base. Scale: 1/25Skill Level: 2 (ages 10 and up)Glue assemblyFord Crown Victoria model assembles easilyIncludes full display baseIncludes fun new decal optionsKit is injected in color and comes with a pre-painted body
  17. Sadly, just like the sedan kit, the 'cop car parts' are quite deficient . . . other than the beacon. The beacon is a good representation of a Federal Beacon Ray. Best of all, the station wagon kit has a decal to replicate the Federal label that was prominent on the front of Beacon Rays. Better still, there are a couple of extras - - so, you can use them to retro-fit other beacons like the ones in the sedan kit, etc. But, the radio unit is still over-sized (too large for scale), and there is still no speaker unit for it. The "spotlight" is a heavy-handed pedestal light. And, the siren is badly done, with its pedestal mounted to the turbine shroud rather than to the motor housing. Curiously, there is no 50's style whip antenna, but there is a 60's style antenna mast. Ah, well. Close, but no cigar.
  18. Whew! I thought you were calling me a monkey!
  19. There's been no indication that Round2 would tool anything new, let alone another old Crown Vic (what with all the Lindberg reissues and the new tool Revell snapper), let alone market it under the Lindberg name. The safe bet is that this 'security car' is another reissue of the old '96-'97 Crown Vic from yesteryear.
  20. A Moebius-quality detailed '53-'54 Studebaker Champion/Commander pillar coupe (like the Miss Deal body) would be a winner. To milk the investment from the mold, it could later be produced as a '55-'57 Champion/Commander coupe, Starlite HT, Sport, then morph into the Hawk series (Hawk, Silver Hawk, Golden Hawk) in its various forms from '58 - '62. Great cars, great variations, great multiple issues ~ not even counting the stock, custom, gasser, variations. If they do it, I'll go broke! PS: Even the screwball '58 Packard 'catfish' that was based on the Loewy coupe platform.
  21. Me, too. He's always been an icon of the hobby! I was blown away several years ago when my good friend (the late) Andy Kallen introduced me to Jim. The three of us chatted for a few hours. What a fascinating guy with what would pass for an encyclopedic photographic memory! I was even more surprised a couple of times over the years since when Jim has recognized me and chatted up like we were long, lost friends! Never misses a beat. What a guy.
