  1. Good thought, David. Maybe this: Has to be built 100% from one's parts box; no purchasing anything for the build. Would that work for everyone? Just another thought.
  2. Excellent, Jim. One question: Where did you source the buckets? TIA.
  3. Wow! That kit is amazing. I had never heard of that one before; I just assumed you were referring to the cheap little plastic glue kit that was knocking around again a year or so ago. Thanks for sharing! Be sure we get to see the finite, perhaps even some in-progress shots; that looks like quite the project, Harry!

    66 Impalla SS

Spectacular build; excellent photography! Really makes that ole Impala look fabulous!
  5. Perhaps if they had sold more of the Little T when it was released or re-released; or the more recently issued GoodGuys T bucket kit (with the companion trailer). Perhaps the iconic T's just didn't have the following that the more exotic show rods have had. Dunno.
  6. Very nice.
  7. Amen. What they all said.
  8. Nice.
  9. That ... is ... just ... too kewl! Wow!
  10. You are correct, Wayne, it was Best of Show at the Copperstate Model Car Championship. It was a fantastic build! Sadly, life got busy for Dave and he hasn't been building for several years.
  11. Great looking rig!
  12. I thought I heard that "1/24" SF cable car was actually 1/48. What say you, HP? (I don't know anyone else that has one, so I gotta ask you.)
  13. Beautiful!
  14. This looks like the morning commute in South Phoenix.
  15. That was downright rude, Skip. I cannot unsee that. Ever. Arrrrggh!!!
  16. I, too, outgrew Dukes very early ... but I've never outgrown Daisy.
  17. I'm with you on both of those ... plus the Corvan & Corvair pickup Jon Cole brought up!
  18. Nice paint, good looking model.
  19. In general, I have a great deal of respect for Rick Rothermel; his writing, his overview of various aspects of the car crazy genre, his 'Hollywood insider' knowledge as it relates to cars in general, and most other areas in which he shares his knowledge with us. But in this instance, I have to disagree with his assessment. Generally, trailers present clips of the very best vignettes of the movie; obviously done to showcase the movie in its best-possible light so as to attract the maximum number of viewers. The trailer exhibited very poor scripting, very poor acting, poor staging, and an overview of a lousy story sensationalizing archaic stereotyping of hot rodding/car crazy cruising/motor-sporting enthusiasts. Given that assumption (the clips shown in the trailer are the best moments this movie has to offer) then this trailer advertises a very poor movie. I, too, hope Rick was not integrally involved in this production, because it appears to be many pay-grades below his usual level of performance. Just my humble opinion.

    1949 Ford

Me three. In fact, a black or dark gray interior would be a great way to tone down the bright green overload (body is great, but body + interior, same green = visual overload). Tell me you're going to call this model "Kermit the Ford."
  21. That's interesting; white glue mockup. Hmmmm.
  22. That's sweet! Nice job; thanks for sharing it.
  23. Yikes! That's a lot of building, a lot of $$$, and a lot of time. Good luck. As an aside, I just watched the "Dangerous Drives" TV program on Australian Road Trains. Whoa! Lot of respect for those bad boys; they have a big gig! Your model should be impressive. Looking forward to seeing it reach completion.
  24. That's neat!
