  1. Unbelievably spectacular, John!! I've stared at these pix for a half an hour and I've only found three tiny little details that convince me it's actually a model and not the 1:1 article! I never thought I'd see a more convincing replica than your Easyrider streamliner ... til now. WOW! WOW! Spectacular. PS: So what're you gonna do next ... to top this one?
  2. Most sweet!!
  3. Depends on which model of Oldsmobile it is. The Starfire rode on a 123" wheelbase and the 88 rode a 116" wheelbase. The '62 Buick Electra had a 123" wheelbase and the '62 Pontiac Catalina had a 120" wheelbase. So, if you've got a Starfire, it should fit nicely on the AMT Buick Electra which was rereleased a few years ago and should be plentiful on the swapmeet or eModelCars auction circuit.
  4. Wayne, PM your email address to me; I'll send you a calendar. We'd love to see you down here ... it's only 4.5 hrs and it will be quicker once the new bridge bypass over Hoover opens up. Also, check MoonlightModelers.com and click on the link in my signature for a local forum. The rest is up to you, bud! LOL.
  5. Very nice indeed.
  6. Very nice!
  7. To each his own. I always thought the early 60's Mopars were boldly refreshing. Especially the '61 Plymo and '62 Dart. Nice looking model.
  8. I start just about everything but I don't finish much of anything. I guess I'm just a collector of partially built kits.
  9. Oh, that's nice!
  10. Wow! It turned out beautifully.
  11. Good stuff, John! Thanks for posting. So, how did the awards go? I so wanted to be there, but ...
  12. Pete, It was a pleasure to make your acquaintance. Would that it not be the last time our paths cross. That Porsche of yours was nothing short of spectacular! I studied it until I got a headache ... three times! Beautiful work and it certainly personified the IPMS theme of "The Art of Scale Modeling." Thanks for bringing it and your other works. Dan
  13. Didja break it? LOL. J/K.
  14. Saw the art for Issue 151 cover at the IPMS convention in Phoenix the other day, so it should be on its way shortly.
  15. Hey, Brian: Here's one I seem to keep encountering!

    "Misfit"

    That's neat!
  17. Tom, Sorry I missed you there. Hey, that BMW and sidecar was pretty cool, wasn't it? It's fully functional and streetable; I understand the guy that owned it took his daughter for a 20 miles ride just before putting it in the convention center! Great picture of you and your grandson. See you at the next swap meet, Goodguys in November.
  18. Harry, the vast majority of builders agree with you on the definitions of terms. There's 'out of box,' there's 'kit-bash,' there's 'modified,' and then there's 'scratch-built.' They are distinct and mutually-exclusive terms.
  19. Good to see you and spend (a little) time with you, my friend. Been awhile. OMG! That shirt makes me look fat! Makes me look 100 lbs heavier than I am! Pete's Porsche was nothing short of spectacular. Good pick! See you again in April at Desert Scale Classic 7! Hint, hint. Mahalo nui loa.
  20. It's simple, the way I see it. 1. It's the rule. 2. I don't pay the bills to provide the forum. 3. Therefore, I don't get to make the rules. 4. Gregg pays the bills to provide the forum. 5. Therefore, Gregg gets to make the rules. 6. Gregg made the rule. 7. Therefore, it is the rule. 8. If I don't like the rule, I don't have to post here. 9. If I don't follow the rule, Gregg won't let me post here. 10. Because, it's the rule.
  21. True. And I am looking forward to it! That's a good thing, as I wonder whether a styrene kit would ever come to pass; however, I'm really happy to hear that Revell is (A) showing some interest in these possibilities, ( willing to explore and discuss further products of interest to adult modelers, and © seriously engaged in listening to us! That's all gotta be good for us as well as for Revell.
  22. Funny you should say that, because a '69 Chevelle was mentioned as well. GTO's? Dime a dozen, but a really correct one? Hmmm. Could be. And, not to start any rumors, but also mentioned was ... a '57 Chevy Bel Air convertible. Again, all POSSIBLE future projects but dependent on consumer reaction/response. Hmmm.
  23. Those scenes are like an eerie movie wherein extraterrestrial aliens have abducted all the townspeople.
