  1. Incredibly stunning, fantastic build, Simon! WoW!! Thanks for sharing this project with us, my friend!
  2. Uh, I guess we'll go with this one ~~~ although there were three others that were virtually tied for the honor! This 1956 Studebaker Commander sedan was an AAM resin body (mastered by Juha Airo) combined with an AMT '53 Studebaker Starliner donor kit to create a phantom Kansas Highway Patrol car. An older build, it is not my best effort ever, but one of my favorite projects and it still turns heads. Also my first magazine appearance.
  3. Nice, Terry, real nice!
  4. That is kewl. Thanks, Jairus for finding and posting it. And thanks, Ken, wherever you are, for creating it!
  5. No bubble top and as previously noted, the angel hair is missing.
  6. Yeeeeesh! (I'm checking on that warrant! Don't tell Gregg. It could be a REAL surprise. )
  7. In the interest of efficiency, I've been trying to get the voices in my head to build for me!
  8. Dittoes to Mr. Taylor's comments!
  9. I have to agree with the Keckster; I noticed it, too. VERY noticeable in the LF 3/4 views and the overhead taken from the left side. But it doesn't show up in this overhead shot. Hmmmmm. Interesting paint, strange effect, but gorgeous color!
  10. Dave, Spectacular effort! Cannot wait to get my hands on these kits! Thanks for posting.
  11. Which kit is it? (Kit number.) I might be able to help.
  12. At least he's honest about it, folks! LOL. Nice 'tude, dude. Soul mate.
  13. I will be doing at least four: 1) Doc Hudson in racing form, 2) Doc Hudson in retirement civvies, 3) a custom, and 4) a replica of my grandfather's '53 Hudson police car. Am I happy? You betcha, but not as happy as I'll be once those four kits are in my greedy, eager little hands.
  14. Dave, AWESOME! Really looking forward to this one, too! Thank you so much for this kit and thank you for sharing the process with us!
  15. Those wheels are from the Dodge Copperhead concept car; it was available as an assembled promo, unassembled snap kit, and a die cast.
  16. Dave, AWESOME! Thank you so much for this kit and thank you for sharing the process with us!
  17. Licensing approval mock-ups for the upcoming Moebius '55 Chrysler C-300 and the '53 Hudson Hornet will likely be showing up soon ... Dave Metzner has them and will be showing them off. I'd post links but I don't want to steal his thunder ... he deserves it. The mock-ups look great! Stand by for some excitement.
  18. Generally speaking, I'm with the Keckster on this one. A finely rendered, realistic replica IS art. But I also enjoy a phantom or fantasy creation so long as it does not stretch credulity to the point that it becomes or appears to become nothing but a toy.
  19. Question 1. Because I can. Question 2. Because I can. >> Is there an echo in here? A. No, I did not peek at or copy from Christian's answer sheet. B. He copied from me. C. Or, it occurred to both of us spontaneously. D. All of the above. E. None of the above.(Actual answer is 3.) Too kewl for skewl.
  20. To Old Hermit: Even in that group of 'rides' the Jag was a little toooo much.
  21. That's uplifting.
  22. Soul mate. Nuff said, there. I think it would be a bitchin' (can I say that?) rod and I'd love to build it that way myself. But since, (1) I can't afford a Pocher Ferrari engine to play with and (2) I'd never finish it even if I could afford it, so I won't start it. Thus, you should, Gregg!! That's my vote.
  23. Martay! Don't BMF the wipers ~~~ looks better this way. Chrome wipers would break up the effect. JMHO. And, congrats on the club theme win.
