  1. Those scenes are like an eerie movie wherein extraterrestrial aliens have abducted all the townspeople.
  2. Any interest in a full detail kit of something like this? While at the IPMS International Convention last night, I had a nice, long visit with a Revell factory rep who seems very interested in exploring interest in expanding useage of the current Cutlass 442/upcoming Cutlass Supreme line. A couple of possibilities mentioned include a hardtop Rallye and the Pontiac Grand Am / Can Am. What thinks you? (If it interests you, let 'em know.)
  3. Is it Friday, yet?
  4. There were only a handful of cars entered yesterday, but there was a correspondingly small number of aircraft/armor/ships entered as well. The majority will probably hit the tables today; and, because registration ends tomorrow afternoon, everything will be on the tables by then. The vendor area is smaller and less populated than 2004 (last time International was here). A few car kit sellers, but not much aftermarket. Just one aftermarket car vendor, selling Studio 27 and high-end foreign resin. Spent some time visiting with the Revell factory rep; very interesting conversation and they have a nice display. Test shot of the Audi A4 kit on the table. Boxes for the upcoming Cutlass Supreme convertible and the funny cars, etc. Lot of good things coming from them. They WANT TO KNOW what we want to see in plastic!
  5. This man says it good, too.
  6. Good observation. And that is what makes the hobby so very interesting. Different strokes for different folks, and a great variety of skills and talents in a great variety of disciplines.
  7. Yes, but in your crazy youthful days did you do the Pawnee Rock?
  8. Whoa! Spectacular, John, just freakin' spectacular!! You done done it agin!
  9. VERY nice, Ken! I don't ordinarily care for the 'big wheels' look, but it works with this one. Very, very nice!
  10. It should work. You just want to paint it glossy rather than flat, as body bags are generally rubber or plastic rather than canvas.
  11. Wow! Aaron! What a concept: straight talk. It would clear up a lot.
  12. Sweet, Tim! Looks great! It's always a good day when there's a Pentecost model on the table to scope out! Thanks for sharing. Hope you and Paula and the entire clan continue to be well. It was great seeing you ~~ although all too briefly ~~ at DSC in April. Best from Mrs. B and I.
  13. See you tomorrow!
  14. Great looking build shaping up here. FWIW, I'm in agreement that the die cast wheels distract from the model and make it look toyish. I'd lose 'em if I were you. My .02.
  15. Very sweet! Excellent craftsmanship especially considering what a turkey that multi-piece body was.

Jeeeez. I'm sorry I mentioned the dust, already! LOL.
  17. I'm with you, Wayne. And if you changed a part by adding plastic and putty, you modified (modified) it.
  18. I just think it is very impressive ... the amount of photoshopping Harry goes to ... just to make this challenging. I mean, I found the original picture and I think Harry worked hard to make this tough, changing the background and touching up little details here and there ... Good job, Harry.
  19. Excellent build, Michael! Thanks for sharing it with us.
  20. Or, at least close examination of the evidence.
  21. And he was truly an artist, as they were incredibly realistic mold lines and ejector pin marks. I looked for the copyright/trademark embossing but I think he may have forgotten to take that little step to fool us all.
  22. I'm in. At least a couple of entries; I'll get back on that. But, for starters: Pikes Peak - '56 Chevy factory stocker Pikes Peak - Leonard Vahsholtz Expedition Pikes Peak - John Buffum Audi Quattro If I get really frisky, I'll conjure up a John Wells Coyote.
  23. Hear, hear! I'm in complete agreement with you, David.
