  1. Brian, Congratulations on the wedding! Welcome back. And don't forget to post the honeymoon pictures! LOL. Glad you had a great time.
  2. Wouldn't work ... or didn't work ... for me. Indicated several people were online but no text displayed, no interaction at all. Whazzzup?
  3. THANK YOU, STEVE MILBERRY!! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
  4. Don't overlook one little point that speaks loudly (to me, at least). Moebius has involved Art Anderson to at least some extent in vetting the Hudson ... so far. That indicates to me that they are interested in serious feedback before the project gets too far downstream. Art won't lead them astray or let them wander astray .... so long as they pay close attention to his observations/comments/advice. There just aren't any more knowledgeable resources that know both vintage vehicles and the model production business inside & out, IMHO. At least it seems to me that it is a very good sign.
  5. Looks like I better get to work on typing skills, too!
  6. You mean Gregg is challenging my title as "Unfinished ModelKing?" I better get to work on not finishing smoething else, quick! LOL
  7. I have ONE truck kit too many ... don't I Marty?
  8. By the way, Nick. I'm not piling on, but it is at all possible for you to post anything without profanity in it? I don't know/care where you grew up, or how you were raised, but crude terminology for 'being upset' does or should count as off-limits. Not to mention your thinly-veiled references to prohibited words. (Four pound signs don't spell anything legitimate.) It certainly offends me, if no one else. Gregg has warned many, many times that such language won't be tolerated on his board.
  9. So, Harry ... I'm trying to understand so I don't get in trouble ... T bucket rods with pickup beds and no commercial purpose go into 'pickup trucks,' No verdict yet on El Caminos/Rancheros, What about Utes? Craftsman Truck Series competition vehicles cannot be posted anywhere, And commercial non-truck vehicles cannot be posted ... eh? Where do we post our non-commercial heavy non-truck vehicles? What if my modified die-cast non-commercial 1/8 scale USAC El Camino is a work-in-progress? Where should it be posted? Yikes! {No malice intended; Just warming up the chain-jerk muscles for a lot of future work-outs. LOL}
  10. Hey, Art. I can't wait for this kit; it sounds great! Here's a suggestion/idea/thought, if it is not already planned or already discarded as an option. Since Moebius already (no doubt) has tons of references (photos and plans) of the 1:1 on hand, perhaps they could include in the instructions some detailed information about the wiring and the air and hydraulic plumbing so that modelers who want to build a fair to great representation of the Lonestar would have some good, accurate reference material in the box ... kind of like detailed paint color call-outs included in some kits. I know the guys who specialize in big rigs know all about the wiring & plumbing and can detail a model without this info, but I think this feature would add a great deal of value for those of us who would consider buying/building it but who don't have access to or the means of determining the proper vehicle-specific appearances and routing, etc., of the components and lines and hoses, etc., etc., of the systems involved. And, again, as I mentioned ... Moebius already has the research material on hand no doubt so there really wouldn't be much added expense other than the layout and printing. Just a thought for consideration ~~ a simple little enhancement of the modelling experience that shouldn't cost them much ... and, as always, the consumer can build to his/her own preferred level, but the value of the kit would be universally increased by the inclusion of the detailing information. (They don't even have to mold all the fittings and valves and brackets and such, as long as they could show us what they're supposed to look like and where they're supposed to go.) IMHO ~ for whatever it's worth. Anybody else agree?
  11. Thanks, Kevin, it was. Boy, those two posts sure got buried quickly ... so much going on here all the time!
  12. Bumping thread up for the convenience of "meaneyme."

  14. Meaneyme, There were two other threads posted with photos and links to albums of photos taken at Desert Scale, both were posted in the "General" Forum; you will be able to find them by searching that column. This thread is not worthless, because it was Simon's expression of his - and his friends' - experiences during their travel to Arizona to attend the DSC. His and Mikey's statements and the responses to them need no pictures to portray their enjoyment of the event and their other experiences during their trip, or our sincere pleasure that they had a great time, or our gratitude that they chose our event for a visit. They are truly delightful gentlemen and its an honor to have met them and made friendships with them. Sorry you were unable to attend DSC and experience this first-hand. But, hopefully, you can make it to Phoenix next year and enjoy it yourself.
  15. Simon, Mikey, It was great meeting you, Alex and Wilmer! It was a real treat to see your models in person!! And, I'm so very glad you guys had a great time in Phoenix. You made it special for us, too! Glad you enjoyed the event; you are always welcome here. Congratulations on your success with the awards, too. Can't wait to see you at GSL next year ... and don't forget, Desert Scale Classic 7 is the weekend before, so you can kill two events with one trip! Til next time, my friends, Dan

  19. Huge thanks to all who participated, attended, entered, and just plain contributed to a great time!! We had over 300 models from AZ, CA, MO, NM, TX, and PR. A good vendor swap (33 tables) with lots of plastic changing hands. Lots of door prizes and raffle prizes. A great barbeque. Well deserved awards. And a great time seeing old friends, meeting new friends, drooling over the jaw-dropping models, and just plain chewing the fat with a whole lot of great modelers! It was a rousing success and we had a great time hosting such a fun day. More pix will come along, but for now, here's a link to some shots by club members Darkrapid and Davewilly. Thanks to everyone who participated and congratulations to all those whose creations were selected for awards. Be sure to join us next year! Here's Best Engine - Greg Reichard: Best Paint - Anthony Rios: Best Detail - Simon Rivera-Torres (This is 1/43rd Scale): Best Interior - Steve Keck: Peoples Choice (Best of the Host Club Members' Builds) - Jeff Alderman: Just a note about the Peoples' Choice balloting at Desert Scale Classic: DSC is presented by the Cactus Car Modelers club; we do not allow our members to compete in the critically-judged competition, so we devised a 2-N-1 approach to the event. Our guests compete against one another in the critically judged contest and our host-club members display their models in a peoples choice contest where the winners are selected by balloting of the competitors and spectators. That way, we're not judging our guests against ourselves and yet we get an outlet for our competitive juices, too! Hope you enjoy! Darkrapid's album: My link Davewilly's album: My link
