Check with them. See if I can bring in my clogged toilet.

I am very tired of seeing pajamas and slippers and baseball caps in church! I've long ago given up much hope for such casual places as court, but fortunately many of the judges are fed up and have started enforcing decency standards in their courtrooms. Doesn't help the hallways, foyers, and lobbies that much, but we can only imagine if they didn't try at all . . .

Harry, Do they make housecalls to Phoenix? Congrats on another good score.

Welcome back, Rick! Long time no see, no hear. Good to have you back in the fold. What an honor: Build a Cat for Wangers! I can't wait to see it!! ~Dan

Jim is fine. He's just been very busy . . . music, moving & grandkids - - not in that order. Saw him just a couple of weeks ago. He did his annual 'passion-duty': He was a judge for us at Desert Scale Classic. He hasn't built anything new for awhile, but he and his lovely wife will be hosting our club meeting in a couple of months and he hopes to crank out something new for that, to thrill and amaze us.

AMEN, G! And, Bill and Mike and Harry. Pathetic, but true. But at least those tenured NEA teachers are secure in their jobs and their retirements!

Fine line between 'cover' and 'covet.'

1/16 Scale Army Vega Funny Car - Finished 10/14/2018

Breaking News! This just in from the DESERT SCALE CLASSIC News Desk: Chris Sobak's LONNNNNNNG AWAITED Army Funny Car project dealt another MAJOR SETBACK!! It was revealed Saturday that unknown perpetrator(s) stole Sobak's primered body! However, the dastardly ne'er-do-wells left a sordid imitation in its place . . . apparently in mock protest of Sobak's propensity for rushing the assembly of his model. Contacted for comment, Sobak told DSCNews "Maybe next year." Police say they are seeking a sneaky-looking group of little, short, yellow guys from Van Nuys for questioning. A police spokesman said they are not suspects but they are 'minions of interest.' DSC attendee John Teresi denied knowledge of the crime and said the suspects were not minions he goes with. A DSC spokesman said the best model car contest in the Southwest would have Sobak's perpetually reserved space on the Projects Table waiting for him next year. -
Pictures are great, but you have NO REAL IDEA how cool this is, until you see it in person!!!! Great model, Art!! And, it was terrific to see you. Sorry we didn't have more time to visit and compare notes, but I'll definitely see you at LLC-NNL. Thanks for coming over.

As we near the threshold of our event, we didn't want to let your note go unnoticed, Tom. Yes, we indeed know you are behind us! We are grateful for the generous support you, Tri-State Model Car Club and NNL East give us. It's a real boost in many ways. As we grow, and inch away from the struggle of "break-even or less" toward the goal of financial comfort, we hope to someday be able to emulate TSCC/NNL East by spreading the gospel and support to smaller, less financially stable but viable and ethical events. You guys ~ and your event ~ are GREAT role models! Thank you. Keep it up, and have a stellar event yourself.

How did we manage to survive?

It's the 'healthy' stuff that kills you. -
That's pretty much where I'm headed with it. The Miss Deal's roof looks close to stock but a little simplified. It doesn't have the door cut and the A pillar is a bit off, but it may be easier to convert than the AMT Starliner hardtop roof. I haven't had a chance yet to compare the AMT glass to the Miss Deal roof, but when I do, I'll let you know. I have a couple of mint Miss Deal kits, but was a little reluctant to tear into them . . . finding these has eliminated the inhibitions!

These little gems came into my possession Saturday, and I posted about them in the "other" What Did You Get thread before I realized my error. I was challenged with the 'no pix, didn't happen' doctrine, so I tried to post a couple of pix, but then my internet provider decided to go on an intermittent fritz every few minutes for two days. They finally got all those bugs worked out, but in the interim I couldn't get a post past the 'offline' spurts. A lot of mumbo-jumbo to explain much about nothing, but here's the 1/2 (mini) truckload of Studeys to which I referred: Two complete MissDeal kits, a partially assembled MissDeal with no flaws or butchery, a spare new-like body, and a resin '48-'51 Studey phantom custom. {$25 for the plastic and $15 for the resin.} There's a specific job ahead for the resin . . . . . . how about a tow car for my humble little SuperStarliner? (That's in the background.) The SuperStarliner is seen here with a couple of its showcase companions, a candy apple red '53 Starliner built as a replica of my first car, and a black phantom '53 Commander Sedan Delivery which will eventually wear 'St. Joseph County Coroner' markings. (St. Joseph County is where South Bend is located. South Bend is where Studebakers were manufactured. I figure if anybody anywhere would use a Studebaker for a body-pick-up wagon, it would be St. Joseph County). The little die cast is a HotWheel I stumbled upon that bears a remarkable resemblance to my vision of my first car. I hadda have it.

Sorry to hear that, Russ. But, hey ~ Stop by any way. It costs NOTHING to get in, lots of great models to ogle and plenty of friends to visit with, lots of Forum members to meet and greet, and it costs nothing to hang out among kindred spirits for awhile! We'll leave the porch light on for you . . .

Ehhh .... I see the 'non-model related' tag now. Didn't see it before - looked right past it. So, I need to post in that other thread because it was a small truck and the haul was models. Sorry about that, Chief! Missed it by .... that much! See y'all at DESERT SCALE CLASSIC!
