Decals before first coat of Clear?

I just finished my last coat of colour on my Chev PU. Do I lay my decals down now and then cover with gloss coat after? or can I spray 1 coat of clear first, then lay my decals down after, followed by a final coat of clear again ? It has been 15 years since my last build and I have forgotten the procedure ! LOL !!
