Kenworth aerodyne cabover
Pete68 replied to Bronzekeg's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Your welcome Ken. I know you will make the a beautiful truck like you always do. -
Here’s another old build that I started around 2010 and never finished. When New Ray came out with these I bought 2 cases of them. I would disassemble them and strip the paint off then Custom Make my own Decals and sell them on eBay. Here’s one that never made it to eBay that I was working on and I never finished it. Maybe now I will finish the Truck but it will not be for sale this time it’s going into my personal collection. The truck cab is painted Tangerine Orange and I hand painted the hood, fenders, grille and frame with Testors Acrylic Dark Blue. The Roadway decals are the old Ert DM600 ones scaled to 1/43 that I did. I’ll be adding some Don Mills Wheels, Mirrors, Bulldog and side badge decals. Other parts are from 1/43 AMT models like the front spit rim rings the old 2 piece Tire’s, metal axles and I made a scratch built bumper made from styrene channel. Hope you follow along.

Thanks I appreciate it. -
I dug this one out this evening going to try to finish this one also soon. I replaced the 10 Hole Alcoa wheels for the spoke wheels out of the Kenworth K-100 Cabover truck. Over the years I’ve lost the inter wheels and had to replace them from my parts box. Soaking the wheels in Ammonia to de-chrome them.

After just shy of 10 years this one is finally done. The kit started out as one of my last AMT 1/43 Peterbilts I’ve collected over the years and this little guy triggered me to go back and start collecting these 1/43 Peterbilts again.(24 and counting as to date) Thanks for all who followed and supported the build over the years. Some features are Don Mills Metal Front 5 hole Alcoa wheels reworked. Don Mills Mirrors and turn signals, Goochie Custom Made decals, Homemade Air Horns, 1/43 New Ray Rear Tandem wheels and tires. Enjoy the pics.

Peterbilt 359 (full custom)

Gary I’m in neat looking build seated up front. -
Worked on the Pete this afternoon. De-Chromed the Fifths wheel and made it pivot. Then I Hand painted the Plate,Carriage, and the Fifth Wheel with Tamiya Red. More updates soon. While I was at it I decided to hand paint the whole frame to give it a fresh look since it’s been years since it’s been painted.
