I’ve build 1/25 trucks and cars for 40yrs and I’m burned out on both. I’ve always liked these little kits they do have lots of potential if you are willing to do the leg work. This one I started about a year ago and came back to it to finish this is what I have so far.

1926 Mack AC Dump Truck
Pete68 replied to Jim B's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Jim I forgot to tell you I called Dave last week and said he found the molds and was going to test them and let me know how they did. I used the Tamiya nato black for my chain turned out very well and convincing after you paint it go over it lightly with a #2 lead pencil for a little metal look on the sprocket and out site the chain. No dust problem -

1926 Mack AC Dump Truck
Pete68 replied to Jim B's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Jim here’s a pic of the headlights Dave sent me to upgrade and pics of my dump truck I need to finish. Ask him if he found the molds to back date the AC. I made my rock gaurd out of balsa wood and stained it. Those wheels I bought from Dave are very nice -
It will probably be this one with the crappy grill and they would have to fix the cab for a correct turbine kit because when they update the kit along with the real truck they punched recessed holes where the grab handles go if you look at one of the last Ertl Astros you can still see where the single handle went and where the bus mirrors go. Hope they fix the wrap cab problem also but who knows in the first edition they didn’t bother to add the correct grill for the turbine engine

Jim very nice choice you can do so much with this kit I love it. I talk to Dave at AITM to get the “retro set” pre 1923? the wheels, hood and the chain guards that was almost a year ago and he said he still can’t find the molds for it. If you want to put updated wheels, tires and headlights he will hook you up just tell him what your doing here’s some pics Dave sent me of his to give you a idea . I will be following this build indeed who knows I may dig mine out and build it along with you it’s almost done.
