  1. Vince I put it in the description what the chassis and running gear was it’s a 1/87 Russian truck kit that I bought from Romania back in 2008. Everything in the pic besides the cab and the winch came with that truck. I don’t even know if they still sell the truck . Thanks for the complement
  2. I started the truck back in 2008 and this is far as I got. Thanks to Jeff and his awesome KW oil rig gave me the motivation to dig this old build out and finish it. The cab is a Athearn Kenworth I added cab skirts and made a farr air cleaner and a top mounded air conditioner. I will also be added a duel winch. The frames do running gear is a 1/87 Russian off road truck kit. Here’s some pics of the parts layout and a couple of pic for reference use only. I had the privilege to see the solid white truck in person in a junkyard and took some pics of it, when I can find them I will post it.
  3. Yeah but every inch of the shelf space will be worth it you have a beautiful model on your hands my problem is I’ve ran out of room for 1/25 Scale so now I’m downsizing taking out some of my old builds in 1/87. I like your idea of the twin winch you’re really getting the mojo flowing to pull out one of my 1/87 KW C500 trucks.
  4. Wow that’s going to be one huge truck! I may have to build one of these in 1/87 scale I like it but not the room it will take up
  5. Thanks Sam there's so much 1/87 goodies out there to make these so detailed than 20yrs ago
  6. Thanks. It’s been almost 10yrs since I’ve built 1/87 scale I kinda miss it but don’t. Going to start the work on the Pup. Here’s some outside shots
  7. Thanks glad your liking it.Got a little more done to it today. I used my chrome pen to paint the cab lights, top cap and sides of the grill, top of air cleaner, Air horn, and the spot light Added the air cleaner Made rear mud flaps and bracket Installed the tank. Added a tool box and fire extinguisher I have to paint the lights and the truck is done
  8. Here’s some update pics on what I got done this morning Painted and decaled the tanks Added some ech mirrors Drilled out fog light holes in the bumper Decided on what air cleaner to use made the pipe and made a bracket for the cab I added a thin piece of styrene to the frame rails to give it a more convincing look Made a bracket for some Sheepscot Sanders
  9. Thanks sam Vince those are Athearn wheels Don Mills Tires
  10. Got a some work done this evening Primered The tanks Removed the tool box to add a fuel tank on the right side Correctly mounted the headlights Drilled out the Airhorn Mounted a spotlight on the left side Added Athearn Wheels with Don Mills tires think I’m going to call it a night
  11. Thanks Jim have you decided to build one of these yet
  12. Vince nice ech. Time to get to work
  13. Here’s another one I built about 12yrs ago. The cab was a Gunther car works sitting on a full running gear Malibu frame plus other custom parts. Decals were from JBOT. Enjoy the pic
  14. That is true and there some what cheaper I just had to quit because of my arthritis in my hand and my eye site I can deal with the eye site now it’s my hands I’m trying to finish my favorite projects in 1/87 to build before my hands get really bad.
  15. Thanks Jim W922 is a single ????? tamdem axle with a drag axle or a pusher axle
  16. Here’s one I built many years ago it started out as a Ulrich kit I stretched the frame made it a drag axle and added the Boley tanks and other components. Decals are from micro scale
  17. Come on Jim try one with all the after market goodies I think you would like it to bad they don’t make a torsion bar in these little guys then it would be a true W925
  18. Thanks Jim for pointing out the typo It’s a W924 due to the fact its having 55,000lb springs but with that generic suspension it’s hard to tell. Think this will be a shelf queen
  19. Yes it is these were always fun for me to build before my eyes and hands went south now I struggle in this scale but I’m going to give it a shot
  20. This was one of many projects I had planned before I quit 1/87 scale. I’ve built many of the “Pup” rigs there one of my favorites. Here is some pics of the parts count. I will be adding more parts as I go and I’ll get a pic of the decals for the tanks when I find them
  21. Here’s a few of my Autocar U trucks I’ve build some time ago both were hand painted. The Coal truck is a Sheepscot with a Jordan miniatures body. The stake truck is also a Sheepscot with a kit bashed 1/72 bed cut down to 1/87 with a load of pickle barrels for my pickle factory on my layout
  22. Thanks guys I will post more of my old 1/87 builds
  23. Thanks Brian these were fun at one time for me Thanks Ray for the complement Thanks Hermann yes that you can do in a small space just wish I could see better to build them like I used to.
