  1. On display at Macungie, this is the first tandem AC I've seen.
  2. Looks like an early 1960's. I looked at AITM but nothing close. I saw this yesterday, looks close. It's a 1964 B61 according to the tag. Well, after some research, I'm starting to think the guy may have put B61 on the tag as the show was in Mack country as I'm not finding any references to a Brockway B61.
  3. Spoke with Matt Pfahl this morning at Macungie. Sounds like the current plan is to restore as it appeared as it rolled off the assembly line, ie, no body. Not going to happen anytime soon though.
  4. A couple of shots of the rear axle assembly
  5. I have been told it was a mixer. I found a video from last fall that shows it on the road, running. I have heard that it is going to be restored, not sure if it will remain as a chassis as it was right out of the factory or if they'll put a body on it. Currently in CT. I am hoping it will be at Macungie at the end of the week (after all, it IS Mack country) and will be off the trailer. Was hard to get photos with it sitting up high.
  6. Seen at a local truck show, this is the last Mack B model to roll off the assembly line. I was told the current owner spent a lot of time, money and effort to track it down and buy it. Not sure what the plans are for it, restore or leave as is. All three rear axles are driven.
  7. Amazing work. Mine would not be straight, even with a jig.
  8. I've seen many of his wreckers, he just got a 73 A-Car with hydraulic boom.
  9. From a local show, these might make interesting builds: 1958 International Wrecker, frame lengthened. Brockway Dump
  10. Got mine yesterday and have the PE for it. Does anyone have info as to what the PE parts are for? I know the obvious ones, grill, pedals etc, but there are some of the smaller bits that are eluding me.
  11. I agree with the rest, great color choice and well executed!
  12. Looks great, I still have the one I built up 30+ years ago.
  13. In the mid-1980's you could get these chrome or white steel wagon wheels for as little as $60/rim. They were cheap and rusted rather quickly so I don't have an issue with seeing them on a build like this. Just tells me that at some point someone had a deal on a used set, cheap!
  14. Take a look at some of the DEF offerings. They have some more "modern" tires (like super singles) that might be large enough to do the job.
  15. I'd head over to a site called Armorama. Dedicated military vehicle site that has forums you can register for. There are tons of aftermarket wheels and tires for military applications across several eras. Sprue Bros carry a lot of what is available. Most of the aftermarket stuff is resin, same as the 1/25 scale truck world. DEF Models probably has the largest choice.
  16. At almost $12/tire, you're looking at almost $120. Not for me.
  17. Thanks. One thing I've noticed with the Aztec Pearls, you have to make long passes with the airbrush!
  18. Thanks. Funny how a model can stir up memories....
  19. Sorry, I didn't do any WIP pics. In summary, I shaved the high spots off the kit windows and installed. Filled with styrene blanks to bring up to level, then lots of filler for the gaps and seams. Never got the look I wanted so I skimmed over the entire side with paper-thin styrene sheet and feathered at each end.
  20. Started with the Revell 66 Suburban kit and decided I'd like a panel truck. I bought a Jimmy Flintstone resin panel body but decided to just fill in the windows on the kit body. Took longer than I thought but I like the results. Photos are quick, I keep forgetting the LED lights have different tints so I'll probably drag out the big lights on some rainy day. Paint is Testor's Aztec, White Pearl over Blue Pearl. Again, the photos don't do it justice. Basically OOB, I added a little lift to the rear, more typical of the time. I never liked the way the kit stock Suburban sat, too low in the rear for my tastes. Added a couple of new pics, better representation of the blue pearl.
  21. Thanks, looks like Fireball may fit the bill.
  22. Looking for some sources for wheels and tires for a pickup/ suv build. I like old school, deep dish chrome, Cragers, etc. Would like a little larger than stock supplied with the Revell 66 Chevy Suburban. Links appreciated, thanks
