  1. No problem, I do it myself more often than I care to admit.
  2. Nope, that is post WW2, the one I'm asking about is 1941 and looks more like the Fords, Dodges and Chevys of the time. http://jimmyflintstonestudios.com/?product=nb257-1941-willys-cab-over-cab
  3. I see that Jimmy Flintstone makes a casting of what they call a 1941 Willys COE. Searching the net and a couple of ID books I have don't reveal any such thing. Is this a fantasy or did it really exist?
  4. This is my first experience doing this, I feel the pain!
  5. Looks like an interesting project, glad you chose the Crackerbox.
  6. Interior is now installed, next are the vent windows and windshield. Lights and mirrors after that.
  7. Chassis making progress, still need exhaust and mudflaps. Cab is slow, waiting on parts.
  8. I think I found it in the Truck Talk section. Thanks
  9. Thanks but that's not the thread I was referring to. It started by someone asking where to get the plastic tubing that came with a trailer kit. It was much more recent, maybe within the last 6 months. There was a craft-store reference to very small tubing...
  10. I recall seeing a thread a few (or more) months back where someone was looking for source for additional air lines (the rubber tubing) that came in a trailer kit. I have looked through almost all of the threads and topics and can't seem to find it. There was a suggestion of a craft supply that sounded good as a source. I'm hoping that someone remembers that thread and can point me to it. Tried searching, came up empty. Thanks.
  11. Not sure about the hubcaps. I'm looking around for something suitable but not finding what I want. May leave them off for now and add them later if I find what I want. Still have a long way to go before it's done.
  12. Nice looking rig, I recognize lots of Auslowe parts!
  13. Truck looks great but the diorama really makes it look real.
  14. Great paint job, that Aztek pearl can be tough. I thought it was the copper pearl at first.
  15. Update: Chassis is well under way, just some details needed. Interior is about done, cab is painted. Still a long way from finished.....
  16. Could not help or would not help?
  17. According to my photos of the 1:1, that's the way they look. Mine is sitting a little lower than Lee's, haven't taken any pics since I got the cab location squared away last night.
  18. I was looking at AITM earlier. Probably be better than buying another kit, though I wouldn't mind a Mack DM....... I got my interior fit and the cab is now sitting right where I want it. Went easier than I thought, just have to mod the dash. Finishing the chassis is probably next, want to let the cab primer set up for a week before I start painting.
  19. I have a two-tone green in mind, red chassis which will make it easy as red is horrible to get covered. What do you plan for the headlights? I'm at a bit of a loss there, hate to buy an entire kit just for the headlights. I thought I'd use the ones from the Dodge kit but they cast in one large piece.
  20. I'm liking that A-Car myself!
  21. Thanks, I thought about blocking up the front, but the one I saw a few years back had a slight rake to it so I lowered the rear slightly and called it quits. At this point, I don't want to do any mods to the suspension, I'm afraid the little twist I have now will just magnify. I already had the interior cut down, almost the same as yours, just have to start tweaking it and work on getting the cab to look right on the chassis without needing to do mods to the engine mounts. Just a matter of time and some thinking.
  22. Started my next project while waiting for parts from down under for the Convoy Mack build. This will be a 1956 White 3000, loosely based on a truck I saw at a show some years ago. I started with the Lindberg Dodge L700 kit as a donor for the chassis, engine and interior. I have to say the Dodge L700 kit is probably the worst injection molded kit I've ever worked with. The first chassis developed a bad warp somewhere in the assembly so I took very careful measures with the second one. The BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH thing still warped, but not as bad. Can't figure it out, nothing is stressed, parts just placed not stressed.....checked after every part.... then the next morning, a little twist in the frame. Instructions are almost useless. I do have a decent rolling chassis, waiting for paint. Fuel tanks are from the Rubber Duck AITM kit. I'm doing new tanks for that so these were surplus. Cut down, need to mount and maybe add steps. Cab is from Jimmy Flintstone, comes with the bumper. Cleaned up well. Tried a primer I saw recommended in another thread but it just bubbled up so back to what's left of my Mr. Resin stock. Now comes the hard part, trying to fit an interior (will use the Dodge kit parts) and mount the cab. Once that is done, I should be able to get the cab into paint. I have a paint scheme in mind, should look sweet when it's done. I did drop the rear suspension on the chassis a bit, it still sits a little butt-high but not as bad as it was.
  23. I was going to suggest checking out Auslowe's site, lots of left-right conversions and other stuff to modify American truck kits into Aussie trucks. The R685 will be a better start, as said above, and more economical. The price on the AITM Duck kit is steep if you don't need it. Not that it isn't a good kit, I have one under build, but why do more than you have to?
