  1. Is there a dealer in the US for Auslowe?
  2. Just scored an old copy of the AMT KW 925. I took a chance, it was on fleabay and the buy it now price was $35. I know I can get a new release for about that but took a shot on this one thinking it might have the torsion bar rears. It doesn't but I'll take a complete kit for $35!
  3. That's fine, I was just trying to point out something you might not have noticed. I find I get so involved in the build that I just don't see the little things, until I take photos which are brutally realistic! I had the same thing when I rebuilt my old ACar tractor into a mixer.
  4. Looks good so far. Just a question, is the photo a little off or does the front cab mount look lower than the rear mount?
  5. I found a single pup kit on flea bay which should have one. It wasn't too expensive, less than what the Mail truck kits are going for.
  6. How can you tell the 2002 version?
  7. Looks like Auslowe makes a tandem kit in resin: https://www.auslowe.com.au/shop/category/dolly-kits/347 Not sure where in the US you can get one.
  8. Outside of the old tandem pup trailer kit, does anyone make a 1/25 dolly for a second trailer? TIA
  9. I never did a formal comparison, but the frame lenght is different, too. My dump has the top loaders as well. As I said, early issue, can't speak to any re-pops. Rockwells: http://www.b-n-lresins.com/shoppingopencart/Aftermarket-resin-cast-1-24-1-25-scale-model-model-Rockwell-Axles-Num1
  10. Photo of the tractor kit during the re-build. Front fenders and bumper were also different.
  11. I had both the original Autocar dump and the A64B tractor. IIRC, they are quite different. The spacing between the rear axles was different, I was converting the glue-bomb tractor kit into a mixer with large tires and I recall taking measurements of both and discovering the tractor kit had a shorter distance. I don't recall suspension types off hand, though I could probably dig them out. Not sure if the later A-car dumps changed, I' only had the original.
  12. I think I'd rather deal with it on a weekend. I have a miserable commute under good conditions and if I get "stuck at home" on a weekend it gives me an excuse to sit down with a modelling project. I'm starting the next build, just haven't had much time to work on it. Then, I'm already planning at least 2 more builds/re-builds so I think I may need to just stick to one at a time......
  13. Thanks again. Looks like I'll have to fuel her up and load some of that sand/salt mix, snow on the way!
  14. That has to be one of the best weathering jobs I've ever seen, fantastic!
  15. Great looking truck, fantastic work. I wish I had the patience and skill......
  16. Nice collection and great looking diorama!
  17. Yes, they got re-painted every spring. The old salt they used did a number on them, thus the extra "mudflap" at the center, kept the salt off the rear axle. The new salt is worse......
  18. Very well done, I like your choice of photo location.
  19. IIRC, the were hand crank. I've cranked one up, empty, it was a little tough so I can't imagine what it would be like full.
