VERY cool. You can almost SMELL the neglect. I especially like the red one. You can almost see the small animal tracks in the dust on the bonnet. Interestingly, each of these cars would be restorable in a 1:1 world. You can't believe how badly E Types rot out. Good job! T

A nice little Benz.

I agree about the Bburago stuff. With some work I think these cars can be made to look real good. Yours are very good examples. Nice work.

Beautiful cars here. What scale are these? If these are 1/18 scale ... where did the wheels and tires for the MGB-GT come from?

I gave cutting with a coping saw a try yesterday, but there isn't much room to work without messing up the body and the fenders. I kinda gave up and located a cheap 1/18 VW bug on ebay. I'm just going to sacrifice the body to get the fenders. -
Great Job on an interesting subject. I have a couple reverse trikes planned 1/18th scale so they will be just a bit larger.

Great looking car.

Good looking stable. Are they all 1/25 or 1/24?

I know this is slightly off topic, but there are 2 paint jobs on a model: 1. The exterior finish, and 2. The detail work, and either one can be the death of an otherwise well built model. I've seen a number of models that had the exterior done very nicely, but the detail work on the engine and chassis look like they were done by a six year old with a crayon. As a builder, I am light years behind most all y'all and can't paint worth a hoot, but I do know that a painted-on hose clamp that was poorly done just ruins an otherwise nicely done engine bay.

Check out his smile. Even Tom Jefferson likes the wood on this trunk. Do you spray clear over the decals or can you Pledge? -

Those are some nice lookin' diecast. I did a search to see if I could find John Beckens at Special Appearance ... I think he may have closed up his shop. I'm always looking for 1:18 scale parts and accessories and have started a thread on this forum http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/120532-where-to-find-118-detail-upgrade-and-accessory-kits/ If you know where 1/18th scale stuff can be found, could you please share that information on that thread? Thanks T -

For those who use this, can this type of silicone mold making (cheap silicon caulk mixed with a little corn starch and glycerin) be used to make 2 piece molds? Thanks -
Interesting Stuff. Anybody here use it yet?

The very first model car I ever built was back about 1959-1960 and was a Dauphine. As I recall, the kit was cast in a grey colored plastic. You did a GREAT job on this one. What tools did you use to cut open doors and etc.? I have die cast VW bug I would like to cut the fenders off of without ruining the fenders or body. I'm thinking of using my Dremel Scroll saw on a very low speed setting. The model I working with has very pronounced fender welting to use as a guide. Again, Great Job. T -
Beautiful job I really like seeing what can be done with die cast and this one really looks great. Any pictures of the interior and engine?
