  1. But if you call in the next 10 minutes, we'll DOUBLE your order!!!!! No, QUADRUPLE IT! That's right! This is a $800 value, yours for ONLY $19.95 CALL NOW!!! Sorry couldn't resist I agree. This is the best thinner out there period. I bought this gallon about 2 years ago and it's still about halfway. I think it was about $23.00 Thanks,
  2. Make that 2 of us.... Nice metal finish. I also like the weld bead.
  3. I LOVE your scientific approach. I beats by a mile the classic trial and error (and waste and frustration) method Have you considered using brass for the cage? Thanks,
  4. Both Perry's resin ( http://www.perrysresin.com ) and Time Machine Resin ( http://www.timemachineresin.bravehost.com/ ) carry a good selection of hoods. I have products from both and both are top notch. Not sure if they have the one you are looking for but worth checking out. Thanks,
  5. carl72 is our winner!!!!!!! 1000 members strong! Here's to many more!
  6. Lee! Congratulations on FINALLY getting the Heller Delage! I asked around and people didn't even know what I was talking about. Not that I knew myself before talking to you
  7. WOW! Love them both! but especially the F430! Great job on both! I have those 2 in my workbench as well and I also plan blue for the F430, but yellow for the Lambo. Thanks,
  8. Unless I change my mind between now and the last color coat, yes, it will be the final color. Don't tell anybody, but it is actually the basecoat of Giallo Midas Pearl, a Lamborghini factory tricoat option. But, this basecoat (without the translucent midcoat) is the closest I have to Porsche Speed yellow... And..... I have already used all the other yellows So it will be Porsche Speed Yellow. That's my story and I'll stick to it!!! Thanks,
  9. Thanks Marc. The yellow is Cobra Colors Giallo Midas. Thanks,
  10. Hello, Last time, we were here: I forgot to take a pic of the primer ready for color. But basically, I don't move forward until the primer is perfectly even and smooth. I sand it smooth to an almost polished finished. I used Plastikote T235 followed by a coat of Cobra Colors Moon Mud primer. I have seen top end shops applying colored primer between the initial primer and color. What I did was to lay a very light color coat that will be the foundation for all other color coats. I also did something different this time: I "spot painted" the areas I know are succeptible to rub throughs while polishing. I am usually very aggresive in polishing, resulting in rubbing thru clear, paint and primer and having to start all over again. These areas are the door handles, A pillars, wheel well bulges (both back and front), fuel filler door and the back hatch ridge. I will now start color coats, but since this is red plastic, I'll take it very Very VERY easy to slowly build up color and prevent any bleeding. Let me know if you like these in progress installments... Thanks,
  11. Zeb! Those Tamiya Tyrrell P34 and Joest 962C are known to carry a deadly virus!!! Send them to me for proper disposal! I'll risk myself for you my friend!!!!!! Thanks!
  12. Looking good! I love the hash marks. I was wondering what happened to the black Z06 with the gunmetal stripe.
  13. VERY VERY nice! Never seen that kit before. Great job!
  14. Gregg, Cool to see you taking time fom your busy schedule to actually build something! Did you ever finished the black Ferrari you were working on a long time ago? Thanks,
  15. Gray, Can you order the Zero paints from Hiroboy? Can they be shipped to the US? or do you know a local supplier? I believe they are in England. I'm curious because they seem to be lacquer, since they recommend automotive lacquer clear, yet the bottles look like plastic...... Thanks,
  16. How about these wheels? These Pegasus wheels are supposed to be 23 inches or so in 1/25. The tires were replaced with meatier ones also from Pegasus but I don't know the details since I traded them with a friend. Thanks,
  17. BEAUTIFUL Marc! That has a lot of presence....
  18. Very nice!!!! Great color! Love the headlights as well........
  19. Unfortunately no. When I thought about it it was too late......
  20. HA!!! Great minds think alike Do you recognize this? I did the same thing for Jose's Magnetic red C6....
  21. Thanks for the nice comments gang! As for the reflections, well, polishing is 40% art, 40% science, 1% luck and 9% Black Magic I plan to write a tutorial on my polishing process, but basically using a polishing kit and doing your homework in prep work. As for the lug nuts, I was going to order some miniature screws but it was going to delay the project and I don't really plan to be taking them in and out frequently, so I ended up using wire. And yes, those Tamiya kits are excellent! For brief moments I'm getting the idea of getting another and converting it to a targa regular 996 911... hmmmmmmm Thanks,
  22. Marc, It'll be yellow. I'm still debating the interior color between light tan, dark tan or the reddish terracota they have...... Thanks,
  23. AHHH!!!! A front engine V12 Ferrari, Tour de France blue and Stradale rims! You HAVE my attention!!!! I'll follow this one very closely! Are you going to use Cobra Colors TdF? Thanks,
  24. Hello, Back in late 2006 I went thru a little car modeling slump. I'm now getting back up to speed, but I'll do one more "practice run" before getting back to my beloved Corvettes. Having finished the GT3, I'm in a Porsche mode This is the Fujimi Cayman S. I did a brief description in the New Kits section back in January. I really and honestly plan to do a box stock build out of this. Here's the body out of the box: Yikes! Bright red plastic. The concern is bleed thru, especially since I'll use a light color. The key to fight bleeding? patience and prep work. In Primer. Only problem so far: The rear spoiler was broken. I glued it back and of course need to sand and prep the seam. Panel lines were a bit shallow so I spent a lot of time deepening them. Notice the difference between the yet to be done gas filler door and the door trim. Next: More primer and sanding. Once the primer is perfect, then and only then I'll work with the color. Thanks,
  25. Darin, You are SICK! ....... and I love it! Looking forward to see what you come up with.
