Beautiful! I now have their distinctive sound playing in my head
  3. As simple as it sounds, I think that's one of the keys I was missing.... Your explanation is very clear. Suit me up! I'm going in!!! Thanks,
  4. Mark, As a long term admirer of your work, I always look forward to your updates, even if I don't respond to all of them. But this one is special and I have to ask: Decals are my nemesis in this wonderful hobby. Yet I don't loose hope of one day having them work for me. I want to cover the rearview mirror or a modern race car in carbon fiber. I have the Scale Motorsports decals. I see you not only clearcoated the CF decals, but you also mention sanding it where strips meet. Can you elaborate on that? I think that's exactly what I need to do with the mirrors. Thanks,
  5. WOW! I can only imagine the time and effort spent! Thanks!
  6. Yup! One of my favorite builds from you..... and a grail for me
  7. Barbo, I'll make sure the next BBQ does not conflicts with another show so you can come..... I set the date thinking NNL was the week before Thanks,
  8. Hi! Anyone remember seeing this? The guy was kind enough to put it under my name! So I kind of made my first NNL east Picture from Gary Kulchock album. Thanks,
  9. Cool! That looks very nice! Something you don't see very frequently.....
  10. Mark, Put down the Faux Fabrix, slowly walk away, nobody gets hurt.....
  11. It is a 1964 Mecom Hussein MK1. No relationship to Saddam as far as I know AJ Foyt drove it in 1964
  12. Beautiful! That is actually my Ferrari racing grail kit. (Funny my grails are divided in categories) IMO that is one of the most beautiful race cars ever built. I would love to do the Ecurie Belge yellow car. Thanks,
  13. Hello, Yes, I know there are plenty of fire extinguishers in the aftermarket and many kits. But my "overcomplicaditis" made me make my own. Machined aluminum body and top, brass nozzle, aluminum foil handle. An aluminum strip, a parts box decal, some superglue and VIOLA!!!!! About half an inch tall. This is supposed to go between the seats of the GT3 but I like it so much I'm having second thoughts What do you think? Thanks,
  14. Ayala: I had a big "Churrasco" steak reseved to send to you but Simon aka "the vaccum cleaner" got to it first We are already planning the next one
  15. Question on the '67 Corvette coupe reissue: From the box art pic (Quite ugly box art with a C6 instrument cluster as background BTW) Will it have minilite wheels? I see a Grand Sport style custom hood and sidepipes as well. Was there a test build sample? Thanks,
  16. Bill, First of all, Not only I'd be honored to have you in my house: I'd get mad if you don't The Sting Ray racer is a loooong term project. Wilmer has been working on it for years. A bit more tweaking is needed, and that is just the body. He hasn't even considered the rest yet. So I guess that between that and my SR-2, we can retire waiting Thanks,
  17. What a great paint job!
  18. Very Cool Mike! I hope to finish mine within a week or so. Thanks,
  19. GREAT work. Beautiful!
  20. Hello, For those of us in PR who couldn't go to NNL East, we just had a great modeling time in my house. Although only 5 modelers showed up, they brought over 35 models, so combined with all of mine, we had over 50 models on display! We had our own show, especially with the in progress projects. GREAT "show and tell" opportunity. Checking out my hobby room and projects, trading ideas and tips, great food, my Corvette library, videos, pictures.... We had a BLAST. While not an NNL or local show by a long shot, it was GREAT! Here are some pics: From left to right: Ruben Tirado, me (at the controls), Alex, Wilmer and Simon. Missing from the picture: Hamilton who arrived after this pic was taken. Trophies were awarded to all participants This is the tuners trophy In progress projects were great: And finished models as well: A Gazillion more pics and details here: http://puertoriconet.com/images/BBQ/ We had a blast. Definitely worth repeating. Thanks,
  21. Very nice weathering! and very glad to see you here..... Thanks,
  22. Hello, Interiors are almost done. Still pending: I want to machine a fire extinguisher to go between the seats. Here are the seats completed, before the rest was added: And here are the completed interiors: Other than the flocking, soldered brass roll bar, leather wrapped foam core pads (surgical tape), photoetch seatbelt set, scratchbuilt door handles, carbon fiber console, computer printed GT3 logos, templated and eliminated back seats, and the key in the ignition, it is a box stock interior Thanks,
  23. Long time ago I was diagnosed and I'm a certified case of "overcomplicaditis" In my case I have this particular obsession with super-ultra detailing stuff that is not seen.... Enjoy the madness!!! Thanks,
  24. By the way, I found a video of the making of that commercial: The last part of that video is the best. Again great sound. Thanks,
