    A crate?

Hello, As I've previously stated, I've never claimed to be normal. A fellow co-worker is into scale boat building and we talk frequently. He gave me some leftover balsa pieces, and this came out last night: 1/24 scale standard 48" x 40" crate. Almost done. It will be publicly announced soon. After it was done, I did a mild wash with black and dark brown. Will play with it a bit more but you get the idea. If you are thinking along the lines of carrying an engine, you are on the right track... Thanks,
  4. Hello, No pictures today but I clearcoated both body "halves". Looking good so far with no drama. Will let it sit before checking if more is needed or if I can continue moving forward. Thanks,
  5. Nice! I want to build that car but been AMT has kept me from getting it. How's the kit?
  6. Nice! A classic color combo that works well with this car. Good job!
  7. The best Heller Talbot Lago I've seen. Everything is great but as I said before, the grille really does it for me! Love it!
  8. Another great one from you! Love the half lowered window glass .
  9. Thanks! Those "thingy's" are not in the kit. I added them to have something there but they are under a brace. The kit's engine looks like a NA setup. I thought about going wild and do the turbos but: -I would have to plumb everything -It won't be seen -Most likely nothing will fit afterwards -It's just a Ford Now if it were an LS then....
  10. Thanks David! I keep going back to yours as a reference
  11. Looking good! Lovely color combo. I'm a replica stock guy, but if you are going for the modern wheels and stance, I'd say go with the modern engine as well.
  12. Hello, Body decals pretty much done. Mix and match kit's decals with aftermarket set but still not 100% accurate (mostly in size). Thanks,Ismael Read more: http://race-car-models.proboards.com/thread/1309/2016-lemans-class-winning-ford?page=5#ixzz5hdh9bRiW
  13. Looking good! That car looks really good in white. Many years ago I was told to add a small drop of blue into white enamel to prevent yellowing. Maybe it works on clear as well. Of course that means airbrushing since you can't do that with a spray can.
  14. Everything looks great, but that grille really does it for me! Absolutely love it!
  15. Nice! That car is in my list of upcoming projects for this year. Thanks,
  16. Thanks guys! Slowly but surely progressing. Taking extra care and time with the decals as I only have one shot at this. Thanks,
  17. Hello, They say you need to face your fears head on. Well, I've always feared decals. I used to HATE decals. I consider decals to be my weakest point in this hobby. but since I like race cars I have to suck it up and face it. This will take forever. This is over an hour of work. There are 3 decals here, but not what you think. This was all one decal. But the "Powered by" script was touching the black letters. So I had to surgically separate them. Then the tiny little Registered logo (R) was missing and it was taken from the kit's decal set. These decals are from the aftermarket set. Very thin and fragile. Taking my time with these. Thanks,
  18. Hello, WOOHOO!!!! I'm happy! Well, to say I'm happy is an understatement! Thanks,
  19. Well, Helloooo Dolly Hello Dolly So nice to have you back where you belong!
  20. Hello, I've been very busy so very slow progress and even slower updates recently. Just as I suspected (and not surprisingly with multi-piece bodies) test fitting showed some unacceptable gaps. So I started adding some material (styrene strips) to tighten the gaps. ...and finally ready for color. First burst of color! Close inspection revealed some minor issues that were addressed. Performance Red was re-applied to the back body and the rear of the main body. After a few days to dry, it was masked and the Frozen White was airbrushed. After the white had a few days to dry, I had a lot of fun (not!) masking for the blue. Funny how the masking is the inverse of the scheme (blue over white) And that's where we are now. I hope to be able to airbrush the blue this week. Thanks,
  21. Dave, It seems this kit has not made it stateside. Doesn't make sense as I'm sure it will sell pretty good. I ended up ordering mine from Hiroboy in the United Kingdom. With shipping to the US it was like $38 back around Christmas time. HLJ (Japan) was already out of stock at that time. Thanks,
  22. Hello Drew, That turned out great despite the challenges. Finishing such a great looking build is even sweeter when it challenges you. Excellent work! Thanks,
  23. Wow! On that second picture, If I haven't seen the Tamiya bottle in the back I thought it was a reference pic of the real thing!
