I suffer from CSBM too!
ismaelg replied to drag racer 15's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Guilty as charged! I behaved myself for years, but this year I've bought 4 already, and we are only in January... I sold 2 last year and I plan to sell a few more. I don't know how many I have but probably over 100. -
Hello Simon, First of all, thanks for you comment. I really appreciate it. That looks menacing! Love it in black! I can see it terrorizing the neighborhood at night. Great job on it. Actually, these cars look black when unpainted. One of my "someday" projects is to do either the Daytona or the Sebring test car. They look flat black due to been unpainted CF. Thanks!

Me? Doing a Ford? Nahhh!!!! Really? (LeMans Ford GT)
ismaelg replied to ismaelg's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Hello, Interior and engine are pretty much done. Starting to come together. The roll cage did put a little fight but nothing major. Still a long way to go.The number decal in the dash is incorrect. It should be red for car #68. For 2016 there was no Michelin or Ford Performance decals on the dash. Just the car number and a GT decal. and a short video: Thanks, -
Is that Jeremy Clarkson driving?

Hello, Just one more indulgence: Added air hoses to the air conditioning / ventilation system. This is the underside of the dash. You can't see them even when looking from the top, much less once in place. But I know they are there. Thanks, -

Hello, If you allow me an indulgence, I noticed in the reference pictures the racing seat has a little manual air pump. I suppose there is some adjustment like lumbar or something similar. As seen here:So I indulged my overcomplicaditis and added that. I know it will not be seen, but that is for my own pleasure.Hard to photograph so it is overexposed. It even has the dial to release air. Thanks, -
1968 Chevy Corvette 427 L/88 Convertible resto Update! 2/2/19
ismaelg replied to MrObsessive's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Bill, My understanding is that L88s were unpainted as they were intended for racing. Paint doesn't make it any faster. However, it was very common for customers to have aluminum heads (both factory and aftermarket) painted to disguise them as regular heads. My suggestion, paint them aluminum to show their true nature. If painted it will look like a regular head. Thanks, -

Hello, Just to say I did something about it, I searched around in parts boxes and came up with these little things. I have no idea what these are supposed to be, but now are part of a boosted setup. In the real car these look like throttle bodies/MAFS.Thanks,Ismael -

Thanks for the link David! And thanks for the tip on the roll cage. That will be helpful. I had found reference pictures of the engine. I thought about it but adding all that can cause fit issues and will not likely be seen. It would also require the plumbing from the turbos to the intercoolers to the intake. Not sure but I think I'll resist temptation this time... Thanks, -

ismaelg replied to ismaelg's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Hello, Started working on the engine. There is something wrong here: No, I'm not making the joke of the 2 missing cylinders. This is supposed to be a twin turbo V6. But there is nothing here that even remotely resembles a turbo, much less a twin pair. But even worst than that, let's assume the turbos are all hidden and out of view, the intake has nothing that would even insinuate a boosted setup. It looks like a naturally aspirated engine with weird air boxes. Maybe Multimatic/Ford didn't allow Revell access or something. But anyways, I'm not going there. I think/hope it will not be seen under the body anyways.Anyhow, here is the pretty much done engine. Thanks, -
Love it! Very cool! That is exactly how I remember those in the 80's.
-
Perfect paint! And black paint is unforgiving! Love the stance as well. Looks great!
-
Nice conversion! Always liked the looks of that car. In the late 80's my neighbor had a turbo in white.
-
Looks good. For the stance, get a set of jack stands so it looks to be raised. The thick glass messed up my '51 Chevy as well. That seems to be a common problem.
-
A very clean build indeed! Very nice!
-
Turned out beautiful! Great job!
-
Gorgeous! I love the work on the grille and the wipers. Top notch paint job. Love it! Thanks for sharing.
-
Beautiful! I always wanted one as those were popular here and relatively cheap in the 80's. I would have painted mine just like this one.

Hello, The interior is progressing nicely. Out of Box or box stock... yeah right. I added a box with wiring harness, some plumbing (don't tell anyone but in the real car those are black wires but I like bright lines) and carbon fiber decals. The kit contains no carbon fiber decals at all. But I didn't cover the whole interior, again this will barely be seen if at all. This was just more for my own pleasure. You have already seen the seat, which is now in place. Now it is time to work on the engine and rollcage. Haven't touched the body other than eliminating the camera dome. Thanks, -
If you are not happy with the instruments, I have some photoreductions I printed long time ago for my C5 projects. I can send you some if interested. Thanks,

Hello, Repeat with me: BOX STOCK No car of mine will have a decal seatbelt. Masking tape and solder, logos from the kit's decal. Thanks, -

Thanks guys! David, I hope mine turns half as good as yours! Tommy, That's a good idea... We can always LS it Bill, Yes, the windshield is molded in. Looks weird but I haven't looked at it in detail yet. So here is the first update: It is now officially started: DIE STUPID DOME! DIE! *WARNING* I may include random jokes and low jabs during this Fraud GT project Thanks,
