  1. Hey Marcos Did you put any kind of coating or protective covering over the Molotow chrome on the wheels? They look fzntastic! Ron G
  2. Hey OldMopar Check out my posts on my Pete 359 4 axle heavy haul tractor, my 3 axle Loadking drop nose lowboy trailer, and my 4 axle drop nose lowboy trailer with flip up rear axle. The 3 axle is a 70 ton and the 4 axle is 120 ton capacity. I plan on 3D printing some of the 3 axle and 4 axle trailer parts. The main bed/well of the trailers will be made out of Plastsruct styrene plastic "I" beams, 5/8", 1/2", 3/8" and various other plastic shapes. Right now I only have them designed on Unigraphics NX11, I haven't started them in plastic yet, but there are lots of pictures of them in the posts. The Pete 359 is being built out of an old Revell "Can Do" wrecker kit. It has a Cummins ntc-475 twin turbo, which when worked on can put out over 800 hp! I'm detailing it with all the fuel, oil, air and water lines. Check it out you my get some ideas. Ron G
  3. Hey guys Found this CAD model on the internet, it's a Cat D11...BIG!!!... It's a pretty good model, but it needed some tweaking here and there. I redid the crapy tracks that were on it. And adjusted some of the dimensions. So here are some pictures. here she is and she's a big mother! It does fit on the 4 axle trailer, just barely though. side view. view from the rear. this view shows the D11 next to the D8H, big difference! This thing actually has a model of the engine, although it's just sheet bodys not actual solids, so not sure if I could print it. Ron G
  4. Hey all Here are some pictures of the Cat D8h I'm doing on Unigraphics NX11. It's only in a preliminary stage, still needs a lot of work to get it to be done. So here they are. this view shows the D8H on the 3 axle Loadking drop nose lowboy trailer being pulled by the lloonngg! Pete 359 heavy haul tractor. same view from the rear. Its only about 50% done. Ron G
  5. Hey a drag strip for construction equipment...cool...lol? Ron G
  6. Hey Force Thats alot of cool toys to play with...lol You must have a very large sand box...lol?? Ron G
  7. Hey steel tiger There's a video on YouTube of someone moving a complete with bucket 390fl from Conexpo 2020 on a what looks like a nelso tyoe 3x3x3 trailer, so it is possible. Although not inder any 16' 6" clearance bridges...lol Ron G
  8. Hey all Here are some pictures of the Cat 336 excavator next to the ALL NEW!!!! Cat 390FL monster! I got the 3D model of the Cat 390FL off of the internet from GrabCad. (Free download) front isometric view of the two excavators. rear isometric view of the two excavators. side view of the two excavators. front view of the two excavators. rear view of the two excavators. top view of the two excavators. You can really see the differences in size between the two of them. The 390FL is the largest mass excavator that Caterpillar makes and the 336 is a middle sized large excavator. That's it for now be back soon with more pictures. Ron G
  9. Hey Gator It is really a nicely detailed excavator for the price its great. Ron G
  10. Hey all Here is a picture of the truck, trailer and 336 excavator. Here is a picture of the truck, trailer and a ALL NEW!!! 390FL excavator. now thats a big S.O.B. it doesn't even fit on the 4 axle trailer even with the outriggers out. It's 20' 6" from the ground up to the tallest part of the boom arm. I guess I'm going to have to design a bigger trailer.? That's it for now be back with more soon. Ron G
  11. Hey all Here are some more pictures of the Big Pete 359. I've done some more work on the Cad model, so here are the updates. this view shows the updates to the radiator and the engine. this view shows the engine in more detail, but it still needs a whole lot more stuff added. this view shows the door hinges and the door handles added. this view shows the Peterbilt emblems on the air horns. this view shows the windshield wipers, warning lights and headlights added. isometric view of the whole truck. this view shows the door hinges and door handles added to the cab and sleeper doors. I'm basically modeling up the Revell Peterbilt 359 that I'm making in 1/24 scale. Well that's it for now be back with more soon. Ron G
  12. Hey kilrathy Yeah my birthday (Halloween) colors. The engine is basically just a square block right know but it will look just like the actual Revell model with all tge detail. Ron G
  13. Hey guys I've done a little more work on the 359 Pete Cad model. Here are some pictures for you to look at. this view shows the grill mesh andPeterbilt emblems added. this view shows the air cleaners, rivet detail and chrome trim around the door openings added. this view shows the rear tri-axle fenders added. rear isometric view. front isometric view. this view shows the radiator, engine and transmission in there preliminary stage and the hood tilted up. side view with the hood open. side view with the hood closed. Well that's it for know be back with more soon. Ron G
  14. Hey all I got my RC Caterpillar 336 excavator today. I'm pleasantly surprised and disappointed all in one. First it's really nice, detailed well and it runs good, basic movements but nice. Secondly it is NOT! 1/24 scale it is closer to 1/20th scale. looks really nice and runs good. more of a side view. this view shows It next to a drafting scale and you can see that it's not 1/24 scale. I went on the internet and downloaded the specifications for the Cat 336. The center to center distance of the tracks on the 336 is 13' 3" and the model measures 15' 5.52" the track gauge on the 336 is 8' 6" and the model is 9' 6" the width over the outside of the tracks on the 336 is 11' 5" (with 34"tracks) and the model is 12' 6" (with 36"tracks) the overall height on the 336 is 12' 0" and the model is 16' 6". As you can see it is to big for 1/24 scale, maybe I can say its a 390 (largest Cat excavator) well that's it for now be back soon after I figure out how to use this model. Ron G
  15. Hey Reduit Do you have any plans of marketing this for all of us...yes, yes, yes...please! Great work and check out my build of the Revell Peterbilt 359 4 axle heavy haul tractor, it has the big 475 twin turbo in it, and I added a whole lot of oil, air, water and fuel lines to it based off of the old Model Car magazine articles on how to detail model trucks. Have some pictures posted of it, if you need more let me know. Ron G
  16. Its almost that simple right know. Pretty close that is. Ron G
  17. Hey all Some more pictures of the trailer and the hydraulic power pack. 13 hp Honda motor, hydraulic pump and tank, I still need to plum it. here is another view of the power pack. this view shows the Bridgestone R244 285/75R 22.5 tires and Alco 10 hole wheels. better view of the tires and wheels. this view shows the Michigan license plate that I made for it. Well that's it for now be back soon with more. Ron G
  18. Hey Mopar I'm using UG NX 11, my wife works for FCA (Chrysler) and because of the Covid situation she is working at home on a UG laptop, so I've been using her setup to create all this, problem is when its all over she goes back to work and I loose my system ? but thats the way the ol' cookie crumbles...lol Ron G
  19. Hey Mopar I still have to convert every part into individual files and convert them to stl files before I can print anything. Thats a lot of work!!! Ron G
  20. Hey all Here are some more pictures of the trailer. I added a hydraulic power Pack to it and also incorporated the nose support mechanism from the 4 axle trailer to the nose assembly. . front view looking aft. side view. rear view. top view. front iso view. rear iso view. Well that's it for now be back with more soon. Ron G
  21. Thanks Gator I have the AMT lowboy also. Bought it to help with scratch building the drop nose lowboy trailer. Ron G
  22. Hey Gator If your talking about the 1/24 scale 336 RC excavator from Diecast Masters there there they just came out this month and are $92.99 plus shipping. They also have a Cat front loader, Cat six wheel drive offroad dump truck and a DT6 dozer all in 1/24 scale RC! If you are talking about the Newray excavator they are actually listed as 1/32 but are closer to 1/24-1/25 scale. With a little work they would make a proper load for the lowboy trailer. They are listed under there truck stuff. Around $40.00 with a truck and trailer. Ron G
