  1. This is a little 41Chevy Rat truck that was done after a truck I seen on the Hub Garage.(ExtremmeTrucks garage. The past-owner said it looks just like his truck did when it was shipped to California. Some key note are the added 50chevy rear fenders, scratch built air tank in bed and the duct-tape on seat. Thanks&Hope ya like it,he sure did.
  2. This 48 woody was a test project to see how low I could get the kit.First I turned it into a window wagon,by deleting the rear doors. Then I laid down a burgundy nail polish paint job&I added cigar box wood to the sides and gave it what I thinks the perfect rake. Thanks for looking and ?'s and comments welcome.
  3. BigDodge-Great Job!! Diggin the Hairdryers in the enginebay and color choices are really SWEET! Good Luck in the Contest-Like your style!-Ray
  4. William,First-Great Job! Your skills with BMF are excellent-Bet that took awhile. I'm gonna have to try out Tamiya paint sometime-I see some great paint work with it. The 60 Impalas is my favorite of the Impalas-very sharp lines!!! Did you have any problems with the kit-otherwise? I've got a couple of them to build and would like a heads up of issues if there are any. Thanks-Ray
  5. BigDodge,I can't really help ya on this build. But,I always add a little clear to my paint right from the get go and get a real shinny shine. Also and I've also found out if I add just a little extra thinner to the paint it seems to be skinnier. You,know come to think of it-how humid was it when you painted the car? That will kill a shine. Are you wet or dry sanding-I'm thinking your wet sanding-right. And myself I don't do the polishing compounds except in tight spots. Good Luck and hope ya figure out was the problem was and pass on any info if you do.
  6. Your one of my Buddies over at the HUB. I guess I missed this Great Looking Build over there. Clean work and it turned out Really Sharp-Really like the color choice and the lowered stance. The bed looks fantastic-very realistic. Your work paid off ten fold.
  7. Did you think about checking out bearair? I,got an atiwa from there about five years ago and just love it.Note buy the one that shuts off when not using-Just a thought
  8. Bernard,I haven't posted any of the pics yet but I'll let you know as soon as I have-Thanks again for the OK!-Ray

  10. Absolutely Awesome Build!! You've done a great job and Thanks for sharing your build!
  11. CrazyJim-Drop back and regroup-Also take a deep breath. You don't want too give up on a project because it's not working today-tomorrow's a better day. Don't know how many times I've felt that same frustration and laid it down for awhile and then came back to it later with more idea's and fixed it first-shot better than it probably would have been. So take a deep breath and tackle it another time and SAVE your Hobby-if not dump and go but you'll be back-because it's in your blood now!-Good Luck-Ray
  12. Went to local library today and was browsing the Magazine rack and came across the Jan.issue. I,suggested about a year ago that they should add MCM to their want list and it payed off BIG TIME. I,Thanked the head librarian and could barely refrain my self from just shouting out loud THANKS!! Since I'm not working and not able to afford to subscribe I'm on cloud#9. I should play the lotto since Lucks on my side today. Is this cool or what??
  13. I'm pikn up what your puttn out-one Very Cool Build! I,really like the way you've add a fair amount of small details that really add allot of Character. First class rod-Great Job!
  14. Eric,Great Weathering Job!! Also Thanks for helping me with How to do a better job on weathering. I was just think about how could I do a more realistic job of more detail than just a rusted vehicle. Your 49 has given me some Great ideas and the way you pulled them off is just like it would really look. Once again Great Job and Thanks for the ideas!!!
  15. Lookin Good-Kinda reminds me of the Ol'Aztec56-Good Job! Hey,about the contest I didn't relize till I went to enter my 2nd entry that its only one entry per person. This really bummed me out because both my entries are contenders. Good Luck!!
  16. Looks pretty good. Might I suggest-use REAL rust washes. This is done by scrapeing some rust off of metal objects onto a piece of paper then put in film canisters, try and get different stages of rust. Then take a wet brush and dip into rust canisters and dab on where you want the rust and then take your brush and get wet and dab back on same spot. Just brush the rust around the spot where you want the effect and let dry. When dry you get real rust effect-takes some practice. If you want to see some of my rust projects, you can see them at Hubgarage.com and in the upper righthand corner of the page is a search-just type in RaysRadicalMind and it should take you to my garage-then just click on vehicles and enjoy. I can't post my pics here because I dont have an account with the photo places. If your serious about learning rust effects get in touch and I'll try and help.
  17. Your correct about the singing-it trigger something in the brain the calms your mood. Your Father was a wise man-sorry for your loss. Thanks for the tip and Happy New Years to you and yours!!!

  19. Lookin Good, diggin the wheels. Gonna be SHARP-Good Job!!
  20. Adam, myself I've always clean my brush with lacquer thinner. No matter what type of paint I'm using and had great results-also after giving them a quick bath in the thinner-I put a little saliva(spit) on my fingers and just roll them and put away wet so they won't dry out. Hope this helps-Ray
  21. Really SHARP X! Like your wire job on engine and the clean paint!!-Great Job!
  22. GREAT lookin piece,Lyle. Thanks for giving me a use for those old lighters I kept! You,ve made me wanna p/u another 41 chevy kit. Good Job!-I eagerly await seeing the finished piece.
  23. Glad to hear my ex-employer is getting their act together. As that 60 Chevy goes-My favorite Impala bodystyle-seen real one just like the box art on the HUB last night(without the flames). Thanks for the headsup!!
