  6. After my davorse,I had to move from house to apartment. First,I got a stack of newspapers(to wrap up each build)Second, peanuts(packing foam) Third, bubble plastic(the poppers). I,wrapped up each build with the newspaper-a couple of pages for each one. Then fill the bottom of the box with peanuts-foam or bubble plastic.Lay each model side by side and in between each layer lay some thin Styrofoam or crumpled news paper or cardboard. Just fill the box up to where you can put a layer of bubble plastic on top and seal shut with good clear tape. Also remember to write on the box what was put in it and last but not least write in BIG letters - FRAGILE-MODELS!!! Keep the newspaper wrap kinda loose as to not break off mirrors and such. This should give you a little something to go on and adjust to what you think would work for ya. Best of luck
  7. Exceptionally well put! I've been building on&off for 45yrs and have finally learned all those lesson's taught. Research and reference helps alot,Get it in your HEAD before you even start to work on a build. Plus, remember to build for yourself first and take the constructive criticism and elaborate on it.A Great Builder doesn't happen overnight. How to books help also. Best of Luck!!!
  8. Roger, first off-Thanks and secondly you should give weathering a try. After a while it get's to the point-the more you screw'm up the better they look.Give it a try and if you have any questions drop me a p/m and I'll try and help.

  15. Thanks, for the compliments-It was one of my Funniest builds to date.
  16. Found out something very useful today. While twisting the tie back on a loaf of bread,I noticed the wire inside the tie.So I stripped away the covering and had a small bendable wire. This is useful in many apps for modeling and it's bendable and keeps it's shape.Just thought I'd pass it on to you guys-Give it a look and recycle those ties for a better use than throwing them away.
  17. This was actually my 2nd choice the 41 rat truck was my first. Thanks for the looks&comments

  22. I'm new to photo bucket and just posted some pics recently here and My question is. I organized my photos today to sub folders for each vehicle and now my posted pics here are gone. Did moving them around there effect them here? Help!! or I'll have to re post I guess-FUN-FUN - Stuff HAPPENS I Guess.
  23. I,started with the AMT 50 Chevy truck kit. First I,cut the doors open then I got out the dremel and hogged out the rear fenders. Next I,laid down a coat of rust colored primer and a coat of yellow followed.Since I,had no rubber cement I used some white glue in spots where I wanted primer to show thru.Next I,shot a coat of green primer. After all this dried I started peeling off the glue spots to bring up what was underneath. After getting a fairly good weather job on the body, I moved to the insides,First came the Mexican blanket on the seat, then the Tall skullhead shifter. Happy with the results there I moved on to lowering it to where I can barely get a piece of paper underneath it.Finally I, started piecing it together and doing some real rust washes and weathering.Added a shop rag to gas filler neck-Last came the lic.plate,so I took a decal plate and cut out the lettering and made the word QCUMBER as I thought this was what the truck reminded me of. Hope ya like it,?'s and comments Welcome-Thanks
  24. Thanks Joe,I cut each slat and man I'm telling you what a pain. It broke right as I was doing the last one -Go Figure! But since it's weathered you can't see the break. pic of the real truck it was modeled after. Thanks again-Ray
