  1. I’ve “re-skinned” the monocoque - this was actually Lotus’ first full monocoque design - to make more accurate rivet lines … i can add the rivets later - probably the Archer rivet lines decals - when i put the build aside i had gaps that i couldn’t bond well along the top/bottom seams …. Gaps that would surely open at the wrong time - like after i had finished the paint …
  2. The nose needed some surgery - cut apart and put back together following 24th scale outline drawings made by the late Bob Clidinst - but putty shrinkage has left me with some surfaces that are relatively flat - needing correction …
  3. I had put this one aside years [and years] ago - Matt Bacon has posted a number of White metal kit builds - but not the Lotus 38 Clark Indy winner - its getting a little hard to find/buy like the other Auto-kits open wheelers - it’s a curbside - i’m going to apply some new found - thanks Matt - lo temp soldering skills - and i’ve got the engine …
  4. Prototype on the left - with the multiple headlamps in each bucket - production 33 body on the right - - - the remainder of the kits contents are the same - excepting the frets that provide acc parts to complete the bodywork …
  5. And this is the kit body of the production 33 - several differences …
  6. Per the excellent Primotipo coverage - the kit is mostly accurate - but is missing the engine bonnett vents - although these may have been added later - don’t recall -
  7. Box art fr MFH FOR 24th sc 33 Stradale - the prototype -
  8. The 33 prototype had different vents and a couple of other features that were changed in “production”. Which is interesting considering how few 33s were produced - MFH - to its credit - took the trouble to produce both the prototype and the production 33 - i can post some pictures to illustrate later this week - if it would help -
  9. Gear selector casing with frame plate and added bolts and a reverse gear lock-out clip … dress in should work for the shifter …
  10. Some additional changes to make a decent engine mounting on the bottom frame members …
  11. Clinically, it's OCD or one can just refer to the Jimi Hendrix Experience "Are You Experienced" Side 1 - Track 5 .....
  12. The frame adjustments result in the top frame member taking a detour past the engine bulkhead - supposed to be straight back - don’t … tell … Colin ….
  13. Changes to engine bay frame mounts - but this is close to what I’ll need …
  14. The Moss car needs a special gear selector casing that teams used with the Collotti transaxle - this is mounted on the right side of the cockpit - team Lotus used a different setup for their gearbox choices.
  15. Not all Weber side draft carbs are created equal - these - by SP - are correct for many of the private team Lotus 18s - including the Moss Monaco winner … the manifold is angled up to allow the carbs to clear the horizontal frame member -
  16. Every so often I stumble upon a cutaway that I had forgotten about - the top drawing by Bennett is less well known than the Allington cutaway below Its a depiction of the late '62 season Weber Carbed 25 - James Allington did at least two separate cutaways of the 25 - this one is the early season 25 with the full engine and trans cover - this is the car I want to make first - and the bottom drawing - done for The Motor - by Collins - is also quite good - again depicting the early '62 season 25 - thats what I want to be when I grow up - an automotive cutaway artist - - -
  17. Workshop first … IMSA Mustang second …
