  1. Zinc aluminum and some other stuff …. As more and more things are produced 3D and printed - it will become rare - hard to produce - has to be cast - but harder to cast than resin - castings produced by centrifugal force - you gotta spin the master mold - neat stuff - it’s kinda neat that MFH still makes its kits with the stuff …
  2. The bulkhead width now matches the tapered width of the legs of the moncoque - sp its flued together with some supports top and bottom - and the forward engine mount bulkhead is trimmed and bolted to slide in/out of the engine bulkheads - Master Club bolts -
  3. Mmnn satisfying my dashboard fetish. and well-played Clifford …
  4. But i then realized that the 25 was designed and built with chassis “legs” that taper to this bulkhead - so the monocoque is 28 inches wide at the driving compartment - but tapers to 26 inches at the last bulkhead - oops -
  5. I’m making something a little smaller than the corresponding Tamiya 20th scale kit part - which has the correct shape …
  6. But turning my attn to the engine compartment and susp bulkhead i’ve realized that i need to make another correction… this is a good drawing of the bulkhead that completes the back of the monocoque …
  7. 2 steps forward 1 1/2 steps back … The first monocoque casting had excessive length for the eng compartment chass horns - mostly because i wasnt sure how much space i needed for the engine and the exhausts … but now i know so I’ve surgically removed (sawed off) about 3 scale inches - the monocoque is now very close to scale spec …
  8. Ok - you’ve reached the - i can’t drop this anymore - stage ….
  9. Pairing with a turntable or a tape deck / or both ??
  10. OK - i get it now low speed - rubber supported on a brass or metal rod create the slot and then open w sand paper a hack saw blade mite work ? source for hard rubber tube ?? Amazon ?? its about 1/8 dia ???
  11. what they said ... the rubber boots - the slots are made - how ?? a hack saw blade - or a tool - or a - what ?? maybe an abrasive cord ??
  12. This engine mount plate was made from two pieces of .012 Evergreen sheet - its different than the part on the Tamiya 20th scale engine - that part is accurate for the fuel injected engine but not for the ‘62 Weber carbed 25
  13. Bitchin’ Camaro - by the way The Weber carbed Lotus 25 had a special Lucas spark distributor that utilized a generator mounted as pictured - this went away when the engine was converted to fuel injection - think - not sure - that this arrangement would have been used on the Lola and Brabham
  14. Gracias - the cams were driven by chain drives - the chain drive covers are set-off - matching the cyl head set-off - again - the Tamiya eng helped me with the shape - it’s pretty accurate here - the cam cover bolt casings are made by shaving .020 Evergreen rod down to a half round and then liquid gluing to the casing …
  15. From the No 10 Edition 1962-63 Automobile Year pub … as first installed in the Cooper - by the way - the book was published with this picture reversed - thereby confounding generations of modelers -
