  2. By adding about a scale inch to the height of the block i raised the cyl heads and exhaust manifolds - so the exhaust pipes can skirt the chassis panels on their way to the collector above the suspension bulkhead …
  3. Have to make the engine as close to 24th as possible - because it won’t look right unless it fills the 25 monocoque - but it also has to fit within the body work - so i’m adding height here and trimmimg there - in the end - my Climax DOHC eight will be scale … fluid …

  5. While the Tamiya eng is nominally 20th scale engine- its actually downsized to fit within the kit chassis and engine cover - so i’ll try to use the exhaust manifolds - and maybe the exhaust pipes - this way i can figure out the cyl head height - as the exhausts must clear the chass extensions left and right …

  11. No one has ever made this engine in 24th sc - excepting the rare Christian Goul Lotus kit - not Tamiya - not Heller - not AMT - no one …. These engines were found in period Brabhams, Coopers, Loti, Lola - so it’s worthwhile making one …
  12. Wait - the 25 needs an engine, right? here’s what the Climax 1.5 litre DOHC eight looked like in the 1962 season 25s - Weber carbed - fuel injection was under development but not yet ready …
  13. Modified and used 4 of the gauge housings that i sawed off of the back of the Tamiya casting -
  14. If its evergreen to evergreen or evergreen to Tamiya plastic - its Tam thin liquid glue - if I’m gluing plastic to resin - it’s CA glue - med or slow -
  15. The dash panel is made from .012 plastic sheet - using the Tamiya kit dash as a rough guide -
  16. The frame in its new brackets sits much closer to the lip of the cowling … within a scale inch of where it should be - i’ll take it …
  17. So i had to remove the brackets cast into the each side of the cockpit - a major pain - and make new ones out of Evergreen L shaped strip …
  18. The brackets that secure the frame were too far back on the monocoque - so that the frame was about 4 sc inches behind the lip of the cowling - it’s supposed to sit just under the trailing edge of the cowling …
