Ive got a diminishing stash of nickel silver strip that i cut up from a sheet - using a sherline mill - some years ago … i twisted the .20 wide strip around round stock, snipped off a ring, and soldered it to a length of nick-silver .20 tube - Sprue Brothers sells it in the US. - and that’s my hose clamp - looks better than the photo-etched stuff that you can buy for this scale …. Ill source a nut or screw to set into the clamp …

Gracias mr Nobling …

Upper radiator hoses - leading away fr each cyl bank - made from .040 nickel silver rod - ill add some hose connector clamps and spray on a coat of clear to deal with tarnish / over time …. Engine isnt in yet - gotta make / insall the lower hoses first …

I may have been mistaken about the purpose of this pump - it may receive oil from a tank in the scuttle. - there ARE 2 lines running into the cam covers on the exhaust side of the cyl heads - these may be the tach lines - …. where’s Patrick Delage when you need him ???
-
The Barchettas had the early spec V12 with unpainted cam covers - some with - some without - the decrative ribs - about the magnetos - i’m building one w/ the mags mounted to the rear of the block - but i think ive seen photos of one or two that had front mounted - so MFH may have based their 24th sc kit on a car w the front mounts - i think their 12th sc Barchetta - which they produced last yr - has rear mounted magnetos - anyway - yours look good ! I took this photo at a Cavallino event nearly 20 years ago - sometimes you get lucky …

For those of you who havent followed this thread for four years (Slackers!) - i must please poster Pico - he is the obsessive who drew, printed, and metal casted the parts that made this crazy project possible … all hail …

Pico! Here’s a part that i couldnt resist adding …. It is the tach line housing for the left cyl bank - but there are two tachs on the dash - so why isnt there a tach housing and line for the right cyl bank on the restored car ? And i dont see one on the engine photos on the Rev’s research site - ???

The carbureters were painted Tamiya mica silver and glued to the manifolds - they sit next to the chassis rails and nearly disappear once the engine is in - just a few more engine parts …

Thoughts: if Court of the Crimson King is your favorite rock album - its well chosen … thought II. Everyone should try to build a 1/8 sc kit at least once - if you mess up ANYTHING - it looks like a toy - would enjoy seeing you tackle the 8th sc Lotus 72 kit - could i tempt you to back date the C spec kit to build the red, gold, and white Series 1 model …. ?? That would be fun …

Gracias

More carbs and the first of two lines leading from the hand pump below the dash to the manifolds … used to prime the engine per the pg 1 Leno video … Hi Jay …

Thanks for your post these two shots were taken at Amelia 5 yrs ago - by 1950, the French no longer were racing vanguard - understandable - given the events of the previous 12 years - In 1925, the French were at the point- the absolute cutting edge - the 2LCV V12 is the engine that Enzo studied carefully …. and 1925 must be considered a critical yr for the development of the race car - where huge strides were made by Miller, Deusenberg, Delage, Alfa Romeo… maserati was taking baby steps …
-
I may not get one … after Delage requested the deposit funds - my bank responded : REALLY ???
-
-
So it’s time to finish the engine - making the carbs - one for each cyl bank - they are perched under the manifolds and are - once the engine is installed - onscured by the chassis rails - oh well … this particular 2LCV ran the early season races without the superchargers - this is the spec for the restored car … and i took a break after - after watching the Miami Grand Prix … got all worked up and decided to put down a deposit on …..

For the benefit of those poor souls who live in the land locked regions of our great country (I’m so sorry) - THIS is what a real boat marina looks like ! AND - THOSE are REAL boats !! My apologies - on behalf of all of us south floridians - for the gross spectacle foisted upon race fans by Liberty Media and Stephen Ross - we’ll probably never live this down -
