Well. They tried you’ve got something to start with - and this is bound to be the only large scale ‘71 Mustang you’ll find ..

Rare rare rare dont forget to post a few pix of the parts trees …

Slotracer.online. Has many (all?) of the drawings from the English Model Cars mag published in the sixties and part way into the seventies - these are great flea market / model show vendor finds - and are also floating around the internet …

The Delage has a panel at the front of the frame that has a machine turned finish - this is my next problem - ive applied a panel of bare metal foil - ive got some old stock that i think/hope has enough adhesive - its on and im going to experiment with some rubber burs to see if i can leave rows of machine turned swirls …

So the fix required a trim of the plastic axle “sleeve” - and re-bending the brass rod - and it worked …. After some tweeks and paint ill have the correct wheel base …

This is where i got stuck two years ago before i finished the Mad Mike Indy Ford DOHC engine - Mecum’s Indy auction features two great Indy cars - Andretti’s 65 Brawner Hawk - with this engine - and Gurney’s 69 wedge influenced Santa Ana Indy - great shots on the Mecum site of that Gurney stock block ! So maybe i should finish the darned DOHC Ford ?!?

Bugatti part iv: Romulus - As you surely know - was in Prince Bira’s wonderful stable of pre-war and just post-war open wheel race cars - when you start Romulus - i just mite start his gorgeous blue Maserati 8CM - there is no kit - but I do have a “plan” …

Bugatti part III: and thank you for your scale question - i dont get enough questions/wish i got more …. Yes it is 24th scale …. The ONLY proper scale, right ??
-
bugatti part II: assume you’ve seen the ERA scale drawings that are floating around the ‘net … and there is still available a rather nice curbside wh metal kit by the same English kit makers that produce the Delage ‘27 kit …. Which begs for a nice scratchbuilt supercharged engine …

Oh dear. Page 13. …. bugatti: Pico is a sucker for anything French, old, and obscure - as am I - as for the Mullin collection Delage - my next Delage build will be a ‘27 Delage straight eight GP - starting with the white metal Finecast kit - there are 4/5 survivors - this one gracing the Rev’s Collection in Naples …. Actually its one of the early additions to what was once known as the Collier collection…

Straightliner: how’s this ?? The grill pattern is doubled photo-etch pattern from an acustion sheet that I’ve had for years - just right for pre war grand prix machines - their stuff is no longer made (i think) but this pattern has also been produced by some other photo etch sellers …

Really nice. Now That the body work has some saw horses for support - is it time to install that engine that you were assembling before the plague ?

Ive been pondering the finish of the radiator - ive decided to add a coat of Alclad Bl and shine it up - the restored car that I’m referencing is a trailer queen - Jay Leno learing at it at Pebble Beach is about the roughest handling that this car will get : much tOo valuable to compete - and many parts - including the radiator - are recreations - so I’m going to spiff up the radiator …
