  1. One thing I really wanted to do with this is try darkening the panel lines I think it would really help the look. I have never done this, you guys have any suggestions on what to use?
  2. Great looking build!
  3. Thanks for the comments! I think this was painted by someone, looked like it was originally red. The body was also twisted and you can still see it just doesnt "sit right" . The rear bumper just had 1970 on it. I have a couple other promos of this that are beat up and I might have to dig them out and check and see what is on there rear bumpers, I didnt know any were different! I always try and pick these up at shows and stuff, you dont see the kit around too often anymore, I wouldnt mind seeing this come back out!
  4. I picked this up at a local show for $15. It was painted silver and I assembled and missing a couple parts. I polished it up put some BMF on it, did a little detail painting a set of custom wheels from Steve Zimmerman? Could be wrong on that, memory ain't what it used to be! Didn't Come out too bad! Comments always welcome!
  5. Great color and a beautiful job, looks great!!!!
  6. Thanks for the tips on the tank and exhaust , l looked a little bit on the internet but I just searched ford 1 ton dump and didn't get any great shots of what I was looking for, I'll try a more specific search. I'm going to put on mud flaps, I was trying to think of what to use so the looked like slightly flexible rubber like a real flap, thought about trying to find some thin rubber but I also want to either decal or paint something on the flaps like Ford or a company that makes dump bodies!! Any ideas?
  7. A couple of mock up pics. I moved the rear wheels back a little, looking at some trucks from this era the rear wheels seemed further back than the stock location. I also slightly raised the front and rear suspension. I have been looking to see where the gas tank would be on a truck like this, any ideas? Would they have the stock pickup tank in the stock location? Also I was wondering about the exhaust, I think it exits before the rear tires, not sure though. Comments welcome!
  8. That is looking really good! Nice job!
  9. The scoops on the Dragula are very similar to what you are looking for, the only problem is they are molded together. If you cut them apart you might be able to get 1 usable scoop so you would need 2 sets to start!
  10. Check the Munsters Dragula kit, I think they are similar!
  11. Nice! I like the wood on the sides! Any issues with prep and paint?
  12. That looks great ! Where did you get the rims and tires?
  13. Looks great! Beautiful job!
  14. That is awesome looking! I really like the front end, is that a 1/32 scale P-40?
  15. The 58 tail section looks great, cant wait to see more!
  16. 17. I would love to see some full size luxury cars and some mid size as well! I drove a lot of these!!! I think the kit makers are missing out on a big market, kids are not interested in building models no matter what the subject matter. I know people will disagree with that but if I was 10 or 12 right now I'd be playing video games and all the other things out there!!! With that said I have enough 57 chevys and new mustangs and camaros, sorry guys but it would be great to have a kit of a boat tail Riv or a 73 to 77 Grand Prix the 71-72 Lincoln mark( can't remember the number!) and a lot of others! These would be popular with the low rider builders, stock builders and maybe even customized! I agree we will never see these as kits and that's a bummer!
  18. Fantastic work looks beautiful !!!
  19. I agree! They were so thin I didnt want to ruin them. If you look on the drivers side at the hood and fender you can see were I touched it up with some red paint, I tried cutting them and they just tore! I put solvaset to try and get them to snuggle then in the crack but they wouldnt!! Sometimes I just stop cause I'll only ruin it more!!
  20. Hi All, This is the AMT 2008 Dodge Challenger kit. This is the promo that is unassembled. Painted testors lacquer and U-POL clear from a can. I lowered the ride height and changed the wheels but otherwise thats it. Not a bad "quickie" to build, fits well and looks pretty good completed. The decals are super thin and I had a hard time getting them to stay in one piece. I went with chrome trim around the windows for a little bit of a different look. Comments and critisism always welcomwe. Thanks for looking!
  21. Thanks for all the nice comments guys! Hopefully I can get this done real soon!
  22. ??? that's true but I was going for more of a " delivery" truck! I really didn't think about that at all!
  23. Unfortunately I hoard everything!!! I have the side of an original 62 Bonneville, just the side because it has a good rear wheel well and you never know when you might need that!! The problem is I dont know where most of it is!!!
  24. Love it! Cant wait to see more!
  25. Thanks Charles, thats a good idea to look into the G gage railroading. Theres a big train hobby shop that might have some of that stuff!
