  1. Cut out the wheel openings…I’m happy with it so far.
  2. So I started this 1/8 Lindberg dragster and decided to go comp coupe. I don’t build a lot of drag cars but I thought I’d give this a try. I picked up an early hemi conversion kit from eBay and bought this T body from face book. The body needed the wheel openings relocated so I’m working on that and the upper frame rails needed to be lowered to clear the new heads. More to come
  3. Finally in primer
  4. It’s always been my plan to add lights to the car, head lights tail lights…everything. I built light buckets for the taillights and will use rechargeable batteries hidden in the trunk area. I want to have access to the charging chord with out disassembling the whole car so I am using magnets to attach the rear spoiler and am going to run the chords behind the gas filler door. 5. Beautiful build!
  6. That kit was originally tooled up by Monogram years ago
  7. Working that same kit now. It’s amazing how much Monogram got right and how much they got wrong all at the same time. I’ll be watching to see what happens next
  8. She’s up her wheels , I have to the white letters and add valve stems though.
  9. Getting there, still some work to to though
  10. I’ve decided to delete the t tops. The clear tops have been sanded smooth, all the molded in lugs inside the roof ground off as much as possible, and the panels glued in and filled. Next I will sand them smooth and build a headliner.
  11. Years ago a small independent company was going to produce a kit of that car using innovative technology for its time, but the big 3 (Revell,Monongram, and Amt) conspired to shut them down. …Lol…JK…Never kitted in plastic afaik
  12. Made the exhaust tips this weekend. Made from Aluminum tubing and swear words.
  13. Finally got paint for it. Factory color match from a local paint supplier. IMG_5950.mov
  14. Paint looks great!!
  15. I’ve been working on engine bay details as I’m waiting on stuff to arrive. I finished the battery, I cut it out and made the missing side, added the missing viewing eye, added side post details for cables later and made a hold down bracket, I also finished the coolant reservoir by adding the hook for the hose and sanding off the molded in cap and building a new one.
  16. Quick update tonight. I’ve been working on removing some of the molded in detail in the engine bay for replacement or improved parts, and started building a battery box.
  17. The chassis is done. I detailed it as follows: scratch built all 4 shocks, added coil springs to the front control arms, rebuilt the exhaust system and added welds and bolt detail, removed and replaced all the poorly molded details on the spring mounts, and added bolt details and rubber bushings washers on the rear shock mounts, removed the molded in bolts and replaced with resin bolts on the diff cover ,ran brake lines to rear, ran fuel lines to the tank, and added a parking brake cable. I wanted a little weathering but not a rusted out car so I did it gently. I’m attaching pics of what I started with and the complete chassis. It’s not perfect but I’m happy with it.
  18. Not much progress on this but I will have some pics to share soon. However I did have to show off these gorgeous Ralley wheels that I found on the Facebook 1/8 trans am group. Multi piece 3D printed with brake disc and lug detail and separate beauty rings. I have done no cleanup for these pics. They are very nicely done. https://m.facebook.com/groups/5764275106940307/
  19. I forgot to add the throttle bar to be honest
  20. So I checked with my local paint store. They can do the paint for 75 bucks a pint and then 36 bucks to put it all into cans. I really don’t want to pay that much but I may have to.
  21. I was especially fond of the Jackman style rims I used in mine. T3D makes very nice stuff !!!
  22. Interested to see what you do with your build . Looks good so far.
  23. I found a local place that does spray cans , so I’ll check into that tomorrow.
  24. Scale finishes is 12.99 for 2 ounces. I think that would be an expensive paint for an eighth scale build.
  25. It was the weather. I was able to get to gloss up by warming the clear in hot water. Thanks for all the help!!
