1979 not sure about other years

Good to hear…I’m having trouble finding Pontiac Heritage brown and they have it. I’m sure someone else makes it for us modelers but this a 1/8 scale and I think this would be the most economical paint that I’ve found. Thanks!!

Anyone ever used automotivetouchup.com paint? Specifically their aerosol cans?

Spraying over duplicolor paint. I tried warming the clear in warm water and that definitely helped. -

This is clear, I am getting absolutely no shime at all. It’s as dull as Testors dull coat. Seems wrong to me. -
Both are pretty nice!!!

The 78 Vette is not a great kit detail wise…I’m not sure what Monogram was thinking when they tooled it up but it’s pretty bad as far detail.

Been working on this for the last week or so. Body took some work to clean up and get ready for paint. Did 4 or 5 coats of Upol primer/sealer and will be using Duplicolor Avignon blue metallic. Basically going to be an out of the box build with a few added details. Kind of a practice build before I get back the 1/8 Trans Am that is on hold.Second pic shows the color, it’s a tad more blue than the pic shows.

It was designed to fit the Revell kit,as far as I know. Wasn’t to difficult to adapt to the Tamiya kit.

The tires were given a heavy wash of Tamiya “Buff” it’s a nice tan color and before it was completely dry I wiped them down to remove paint from the high spots. I appreciate all the kind words, I really had fun with this build!!!

What do you guys use to drill larger holes in styrene? Like 3/8 inch, normal drills tend to pull the plastic out of shape or tear.

The inner fender on the front didn’t really cause a lot of issues…After removing the front fenders I had to cut back the nose to accommodate the bug eyed nose and then sanded everything flush on the sides. The exhaust I used is available from Texas 3D and fit their engine perfectly. I think it would fit the Tamiya engine with some work.

Yes Texas 3D body kit with some modifications, engine, rims, and rear tires.

I’m calling it done even though it needs a couple minor things. Not perfect but it’s done. Did some minor weathering.

I guess that’s possible if the wind is right, but to be honest, I worry about keeping junk out of the paint more than I do fumes. That said I paint on my screened in porch so any fumes stay out there

Not necessarily a tutorial but I want to share. I took an old beat up acrylic aquarium, cleaned the crud out of it and cut a hole in the bottom. A cheap 12 volt fan from Amazon and it works well enough for me.

Yep, Texas 3D makes 2 style of front ends , I bought the Baja kit , the engine, the wheels and tires and the seats all from him and the quality is absolutely top notch!

Started with Tamiya’s Beetle, a whole bunch of parts from Texas 3D, this where I’m at. Still need a little body work, but hope to have it in final primer this weekend. Engine is all but done. Still needs an interior and some chassis work but it’s getting there.
